Default Hello from Powell River, BC

    Hello to everyone -

I just joined after discovering this site. I found it because someone linked to one of the posts on my blog about gardening. There's lots of good information here, so I decided to join.

I live most of the year in a float cabin on Powell Lake in Coastal BC. The cabin is 20x21 on a 40x40 cedar log float. It is pretty "frugal" in all aspects. We pump water from the lake, have an outhouse on shore and use propane, solar and wind for power.

I have a raised bed garden also on a cedar log float. It keeps my veggies away from critters protected by the lake. It's also easy to get to from my cabin. The rocky shore isn't very garden friendly. I will share pictures in the future when I am allowed.

I am going to enjoy sharing some of my tips and learning a lot more from each of you. -- Margy

Thanks for the welcome. I see that you used to live here on the coast. I look forward to sharing more about my float cabin and off the grid living tips. I see there are lots of good tips here as well, and good people to answer any questions I may have. - Margy

Default Thanks for the Warm Welcome

Thanks to everyone at Frugal Village for such a warm welcome. And a special hello to Danni - we find Powell Riverites in many places. As you know, it is a wonderful place to live. We feel so lucky to have found it and love living here, especially in our cabin up the lake.
