Remember that my car was broken into?
I posted about it not only because I was extremely p..... about the break in but because it was the second time within 3 months that it had happened. I posted about it, I believe, on Dec. 18th, the day that it happened.
We have been driving a rental car since then and is paid for by my insurance.
My car is still not finished because there was so much damage and due to the holidays the repair shop was closed a lot of the time.
I understand all this.
Today I got a call from the repair shop that they were having trouble with my insurance.
(Just for info - this repair shop is the one where I HAVE to take the car if there is damage.)
Because this was the second damage within a certain period, they are only going to pay out $1350. The damage is $3000. It isn't an option not to get some of the damage repaired since most of the dashboard was ripped out by the thieves.
Because we are also having the car alarm upgraded, it will be an extra $1000.
(If possible I would have the car electrified so that no one would break into it again but having the alarm upgraded is the best I can do.)
I am SOOOOOO p..... at all of this.
I had to vent - just when you think you are getting ahead, Murphy comes to visit.
Thanks for listening*Avril*

That stinks! Hopefully, the insurance stops jerking around and just gets it paid for so you can get your car back.
Good idea on upgrading the car alarm. Hopefully, that will ward off any more theives and save you money in the long run!

You need to call and talk to the insurance. Just tell them you want them to explain it so you understand it. It may just be an error. It's worth a try.
15 or so years ago, my house had faulty plumbing and I had 3 pipes break in different locations, my insurance said I could claim them and they would pay( they got their money from the manufacture), but I would need to find a new insurance company after words. I choose to just claim the worst one they were replumbing my whole home due to the bad plumbing any way, and I was able to fix the rest of the damage.
Anyway they may be able to give you some other option.
