Might have caused issues for niece & hubby...
Uh oh, I think I put my foot in it...my mouth I mean. My niece & her hubby have had to use my number for a message number for years since they haven't had their own phone until recently. A cash advance place called for her hubby today, so I called their house to forward the message.
Her dh had to borrow money from me back in Nov/Dec to fix their car...no problem since they always pay me back. Well it seems he borrowed money a second time from a cash advance place and told her he used it to pay me back (which he didn't). Well he never paid off the second advance...and when she told me that he had taken out the second one to pay me back and they weren't able to pay it back, I of course said, "mmmm, honey he hasn't paid me back yet".
I think there is going to be trouble in paradise when he gets home from work...since she is now wondering where all the money went...ugh glad I'm not him."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon

oh what a tangled web we weave.........
you didn't do it to be malicious, so I wouldn't worry about it. It was an accident.

oops, I hate it when I do stuff like that by accident. OI. You didn't do it on purpose. Maybe it won't be too bad.

I hope you are not feeling guilty about it. The husband created his own mess. In fact, you have reason to be angry that he even put you in this awkward position.

Thanks ladies...I don't really feel guilty, I feel bad for my niece. It didn't really slip out either...when she told me the reason he did the cash advance thingy again (to pay me) I couldn't let her think he had paid me, when he didn't. If I wouldn't have told her, I would have been deceiving her by letting her think the debt was paid when it isn't.
I sure hope he learns his lesson...having been married for almost 33 years I know there are few things worse than having your spouse lie to you."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon
