    Default Car trip ideas!!!

We are leaving this weekend to go to my grandma's house for our make-up Christmas!! (we had to postpone due to weather) Anyway, my 3 year old ds is traveling with my parents, I am looking for something for him to do while on the road!!

I was thinking I would put together a little car traveling kit, just for him. So far I was thinking, crayons (8 pack), small coloring book, small whiteboard with markers, some snacks, water, and some books!! Is there anything else you have found that works good in the car??? I was also thinking about finding a table type thing to give him that would work well with his car seat, something he can set in his lap or that hung over the car seat sides???

Just looking for some suggestions, let me hear what you got!!!

My grandson who's 5 years took the train from Washington to West Virginia and we sent with him some stickers, non rolling crayons and a tablet of half sheets of construction paper. Asking him to draw us pictures of what he saw along the way, (we also included self addressed stamped envelopes to mail them back )

We also sent a couple small puzzles in zip locks, silly putty, a kaleidoscope from the $ store.

small toys such as action figures or Hot Wheels that are brand new and never been seen before would be good.

A modified version of car bingo to suit a younger guy could be pictures of things he might see on the road such as stop signs, mailboxes, horses, a fence, etc and then he can put a sticker on the picture when he finds it. If you put two or three on a page then maybe he could get a treat after filling up a page and then they could pull out one of the things you've packed instead of giving it to him all at once. This way he can play with the stuff until he's bored with it and then play the "Bingo" game to get a new activity.
