Is It Really 12 Degrees In Atlanta?
I saw this on the news and couldn't believe it. Anyone in that area, is it true?

Wow, that can't happen very often. Hope you don't get any precipitation!
I lived on the piedmont in NC for several years and they practically closed the roads when it frosted. And any little bit of snow had them completely demoralized. I can understand their attitude since I'm sure their road crews aren't prepared like those in the frozen north (-17 here today).
Good luck and stay warm.

I think pretty much everyone is freezing right now! Except for my "crazy" friend who lives in Fairbanks, it is almost 40 degrees there today. Go figure! We are in the negatives for a high today and she is enjoying above freezing temps and sunshine!

I am about 45 minutes west of Atlanta. It has now reached 28 degrees here, today. I am supposed to pick my DH up at the airport tonight around midnight. Can't imagine what it will feel like outside at that time of night.

We broke a record yesterday of -21 below, with a wind chill of -48 below. To freaking cold, i have no idea all you canadians do it. I would be jumping the border and moving to a warmer state.

I know you all are going to laugh at me, but its 57 degrees in Ft. Lauderdale right now and my Florida blood is freezing. I can handle 90 degrees with 98% humidity with a smile on my face though...

I am sure it was and today will be just as cold. I am in PA and it's 1 degree out right now, only expecting to reach 19 degrees total today... make sure you warm up your cars first and turn the heat on high inside, lol before you go anywhere.

We're not in Atlanta, but here in middle Tennessee, we were -3 degrees here yesterday.
The weather person said it was the coldest day they've had in 6 years, it figures it would happen the first year we moved here after living in Florida for the last 6 years.
They cancelled schools yesterday just because it was so cold, they didn't want the kids having to get up and go outside to catch the buses.
No snow whatsoever, just frigid cold, brrrrrrr.................................Michelle in middle Tennessee!
Ever so slowly rebuilding my stockpile...
