New Guy from Iraq / Indiana
Greetings,
I am a retired Marine, who is currently working in Iraq. Back home in Indiana, my work prospects were not the best (not much need for retired infantry) but I was lucky enough to get this position over here.
We have started working hard to "pay" for past financial transgretions, and am learning from them. This appears to be a terrific site, with a lot of great tips, ideas, and support from seasoned members.
I am thankful for my family, my faith, and the fact that I started today above ground, and not in it.
Cheers,

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. As is probably the case with a lot of people, my wife and I discovered D. Ramsey, and are taking a lot of his principles to heart.
Some things (like selling our suv) are not going to happen. First and foremost, after last year the value plummeted. So, we will pay it off, and take care of it. My wife is the primary driver of it, and only has a 1.5 mile commute.
We are in the process of refinancing to a 15 year mortgage at an incredible interest rate, (try that from half a world away for a challange). We have (2) CCs that should be gone by May 1st, and just keep rolling everything on to the next bill.
Thank you all again, and be safe.
Cheers,
