New from Ohio
Hello everyone! Newbie from Ohio here. Looking to find ways to save money for an upcoming trip in May to England to see my husband's family (FIL's 50th Bday
).
I've been looking around a lot on the site, can someone explain to me what the whole CC $/$ means? Is that like total you had, and how much you have now in debt on that credit card? Thanks.
Edit: wanted to add a little more about myself I saw from a post on here.
I found Frugal Village on our local news webpage wcpo on a news story about putting socks in your dishwasher. The headline just sounded interesting. After surfing the page for about 2 hours, I decided to join.
What interests me here is the people I've seen saving huge amounts of money. I've been couponing for the last 6 months, and it does save us a lot of money... but I feel that I could do better, as we do splurge a lot on unnecessary things.
I do not currently know anyone else on this website, but i'm sure there are people on here that are on another forum I post on online for couponing.
I am married as previously posted, for nearly 1 year at the end of Feb. We Do not have any kids and are not planning in the near future. We do have 3 crazy cats. They are all ginger and little terrors. Our first is Sebastien, he's around 9 yrs old long haired maine coon. The other two are brother and sister born in April 2008, Lena (Short for Lennon) and McCartney, from my all time favorite band The Beatles. haha. I work in Insurance, doing customer service. DH is working on permanent residency, and green card. He is a first generation immigrant from the UK. Fingers crossed to be done with USCIS by our anniversary (for 2 yrs at least). My interests are really Photography, saving money, and traveling.Last edited by midicat13; 01-18-2009 at 01:45 PM. Reason: adding to post

to frugal village. I have a confession.
The title was changed on that article. It's not supposed to be socks in the actual dishwasher. Sounds funny, doesn't it? LOL It's only the dishwasher soap that's needed.
I suppose anyone could do it that way, though.

Welcome. I along with alot of others keep a running total of what we are saving, either with change or coupons. Some track debt payoff. It is just a way for us to track progress. you can creat your own way of tracking...whatever is motivating to you. Go to user cp at the top left, then edit signature. haha. That's funny that you changed the title of the article. I thought that seemed interesting about dishwashing socks...
danimarie - we must be close to each other then. I live on the East side of Cincinnati. I actually went to UC, but starting this summer i'm transfering to NKU and doing online courses. I only have about a yr and a half left to get my Bachelors in Organizational Leadership. With work and mortgage payments it's too hectic to try and actually go to a campus
... especially since we are victim to the horrible economy in Ohio recently. DH lost his job about 2 weeks ago.
Thanks to everyone else who has replied! The welcomes are great!
