Progressive - intresting article
I am looking for ways to save money as usual! Our car/house insurance seems very high. We are currently using State Farm but I was curious about finding something cheaper. Does Progressive Insurance really save you money or is it a scam? Anyone have any luck using them? Did you indeed find a better/cheaper quote? I hate mucking with things that are already set but if I could actually save some money, it would be worth it!!!

Progressive was my cheapest option. I've been with them for years and never had any issues. When I got hit this summer, getting my car repaired was almost too easy. Dropped off my car at their service center before work the next day, they sent me off with a rental car that was all ready for me and I could be assured was covered completely by the insurance, and called me back a few days later to pick up a perfect looking car. Even the hub cap that had a little scratch on it was replaced. By then they'd also negotiated with the other insurance company to cover my deductible for me, because their driver had been at fault. So I didn't even have to pay anything out of pocket and wait to get reimbursed.

We also have progressive, and have had no problems. My dh every year looks at insurance companies, to see if we are getting the best deal. He also has 3 speeding tickets on his record, and progressive definitely was the best deal for us.
The only time I called them was when I needed my windshield fixed...and it was so easy, they were great to work with and they dealt directly w/the windshield company....never saw a bill.
We've had very good experiences with them."We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

We have progressive as well. We've also had them for several years without any issues. Every time we look for a beeter price we end up staying with them.

I love Progressive. DS totaled a car recently and the company took care of everything. Our rates went up just a tiny little bit, and they're still cheaper with Progressive than with other places I've checked.

I've had Progressive insurance for 4 years now and I love it. When dh was rear ended by a drunk driver, they handled his repairs immediately, and as vigilant20 noted, it was almost too easy! Once we got a lower quote from another company, but opted to remain with Progressive regardless because the difference was minimal and we had gotten such good service in the past.

We have been with State Farm for 40 years. They treat us nicely but I might have my husband check into Progressive to just see whats to what.

We have Progressive too and the rates are less compared to a lot of other companies. We haven't had a claim so far so can't vouch for that side of it.

Thank you for starting this thread; dh and I have looked at switching our car/homeowner's insurance to Progressive . . . it is substantially cheaper than the Shelter ins. we have now. These responses have helped me!

My DD has had Progressive for about a year and has not had any issues with it, though she's never filed a claim. It was the least expensive option for her.

We've had progressive for almost 3 years and are really happy with them. Our insurance is due for renewal so we were getting quotes. Our agent noticed they had not given us the homeowner discount and got them to refund what the discount would have been for a full 12 months. Also my SIL totaled our car 2 years ago. It was 100% her fault and they dealt with everything. They kept us aware of what was happening and did not raise our rates because of it. And to end this little novel...their rates are teriffic. I believe somewhere around $250 less every 6 months than our previous company.

love it!!!!
We just switched about 6 months ago, and took a rock in our windshield about 2 weeks later. We called and they sent someone out to fix it for free at our house the next day - no deductible or anything!!! They said that it was cheaper to repair a bullseye for free than to replace the whole thing later even with us paying our deductable.
