I just reduced my cell phone plan. We weren't using it enough to warrant the high monthly bill.

I tryed last week to get my bundle ( digital cable, internet and phone) less, but they told me I was at the lowest possible. I pay 160.00 a month. I said I was shoping around and will have to most like cancel. They said do what I have to do. It is being canceled after super bowl. We can't afford it any way.

I keep trying to get my DH to call the cable co. (He's the only one on that bill) I'm pretty sure they would lower it and I feel like we're paying out the nose!

We called our cable co. last week and reduced our bill from $162 to $128, so by $34. Not too shabby! It does pay to call. We simply asked them to break down our bill as to what we were paying for everything and Vic was very nice to the guy and said he would look up any promotions going on and voila!

Calling the phone company is on my list of things to do. We can ditch all long distance since it's free on our cell phones, and who really needs call waiting?

I called last week and got our cable/internet lowered by $15 a month, but I dropped our internet to roadrunner lite. My cable package is at the lowest price available for now.
Our home phone has no long distance and the only extra is caller id. I'd get rid of it all together, if we had dependable service on our cells at home, (it's hit or miss sometimes, from inside the house!).
Thanks for the link!

Definitely worth a try...we pay out the nose for cable & internet service and then pay out the nose to our phone company as well. Once we get things situated I may bundle our services for a year through the cable company...it will save me approx. $80 a month. At the end of that year I'll switch stuff around again.
I'm also cancelling my newspaper...hear tell that after a few weeks they'll call with an offer which will save me $7.05 per month for a year..."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon

If the cable company wanted more business then all they have to do is lower the price enough so that many more people would want it. But nooooo... they will continue to be greedy and make those who have it pay even more.

I am going to have to do this with my cell phone bill because the amount I pay for two phones that hardly get used is pretty ridiculous.

After reading this post the other day, I called up our phone company who we have DSL service through, and just for asking them how to save on our service, they are taking off $20/month for the next 12 months.....it does "save" (instead of pay) to ask!
