getting NOTHING done....
i don't know whether to hug you guys or scream at ya....
ever since i have found this site i have gotten nothing done and i sit here and read post after post and blog after blog....and before i know it the day is over....and i am staying up way too late at night .....
i will be debt-free by the end of the year coz i haven't left the house in a week...haha
honestly though....i think you are all a great bunch of people who have 'found' each other on this site and created a really 'cool' little community...the participation by everyone is phenomenal...i haven't found many forums as active as yours....and that makes for great and 'totally-time-consuming' reading...hopefully i will get all caught up so i can get up off this couch.... and get on with life....my legs have fallen asleep...

Better pace yourself. Do the 15/45 minute challenge. Housework/whatever else you need to get done for 15 min, and visit FV for 45 min, repeat. :laughinghard:

That's how I do it only I also add in time for feeding/changing/fussy baby. Some days I don't get on here until late at night or sporadically throughout the day and I must say I suffer withdrawal LOL. If you don't pace yourself though it's easy to get lost and they day wasted away. Yep, I'm a FV addict.

i like the ratios.... 15 mins working...45 mins FV.... sounds like a good plan to me and well thought out too....
actually i HAVE justified all this coz think of the money i will be saving with all your great ideas and plans... so there's the 15 mins working....that leaves 45 more mins for chatting.... problem solved....i'm back on the couch.....

I, too, found that I spent waaaay too much time on Frugal Village when I found the site. I have an obsessive compulsive nature, unfortunately, so it didn't help. I ended up having to force myself to get back to reality (housecleaning, taking care of the kids, etc.) I have a much better computer/life balance now. I try to limit myself to 1/2 an hour to 1 hour in the afternoon and 1/2 an hour to 1 hour at night. It often becomes a little longer than that, but that's my personal goal.
An obstacle is what comes up when you lose sight of your goal.

Sometimes keeping it completely off is the only answer. Lessens the temptation and I actually feel accomplished cause I've gotten things done so I "deserve" to go on FV at night.

That 15 minutes off F.V. and 45 minutes on is my routine on the weekend
. I joined 2 years ago and I think there have been very few days that I have not visited and those were usually because I was out of town. I even managed to visit the site for about 15 minutes on my honey moon. I had to do it on the sly because my poor Dh would have flipped if he had known I was sneaking in F.V. time. He appreciates that I love this place and it's my time, however, he may not have appreciated it so much on our honey moon
.

I guess I'll have to institute the 15/45 plan also. My house is a wreak ever since I found this place. Someone over at EONS posted the link to here and here I've been ever since! LOL I just hope I don't pi$$ off too many people. I can be a tad blunt sometimes in my postings. Sometimes I forget to use some tact when I reply to folks. sorry in advance LOL

I just make sure I visit the site every day, so I don't get backlogged on new posts to read through! I take my "me-time" in the morning with my coffee and peruse what is going on. Then if I have free time during the day, I check in. But if I don't check in for days at a time, I have way too much reading to catch up on and never get through it all!

Welcome to the club!
I've been here since 3:30am today! Luckily I have to go to school in 30 minutes.
