My FV to do list
I'm compiling a list of things that need to be done on the forums, so Gabe and I can address them. Now is a good time to share what you'd like to see on FV and I'll see what we can do to make it happen.
Some things might take longer than others, but we always take feedback into consideration.
I know some people have messaged us with forum issues and we're trying to get them worked out. We're not ignoring your issues. Some are just hard to pinpoint to fix. You're welcome to repost them here to be certain your issue isn't overlooked. It's most helpful when any issues are submitted through the help system. That helps us to have a handy list of any that are unresolved.
So we'll be trying to fix what seems to be broken, but want to hear if there's anything you'd like to see, too.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. It's internationally syndicated through Universal Uclick. Thank you for supporting Frugal Village.

I don't know what you've decided about this, but I'd really like to see the debate forum come back.

~I'm very happy that the debate forum is gone and I'd prefer it stayed away.
~Something I've been mulling over but not sure how to implement exactly is a one on one mentoring experience. Sort of a big brother/big sister.
~I'd love to see an active bartering forum.
~I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but could the Moderators be re-evaluated? Some are never here and it's very unclear what any of them do or what information they have access to.~Constance

-I for one would not like to see the debate forum come back.
I'm still having problems with my computer freezing up when I try to post an answer to threads. It only happens here.
-I think a mentoring forum would be way cool.

I'd like to see the bartering forum active, too.
I also see the moderator issue. I would really like moderators that are passionate about a topic on FV to help lead sections. I also think they should be active members. But hard to complain when I'm thankful for any help. I'll consider taking on new moderators. I'm on the fence with that. But will give it some deep thought.
Moderators don't have access to any information other than a more detailed who's online and seeing posts that are soft deleted. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. oops, forgot to say I think the mentoring forum is great. So many members have skills and knowledge that others can learn from.

I remember others having problems with this before. Do you use Explorer? Is it updated? I hate to sound like everyone should use firefox, but often times that's the problem. I'm hoping when we update the forums, this will help your situation.
Let me know after we update.

I had high hopes for it to work. I couldn't take it! And I feel very badly in many ways about the whole thing. I'll consider opening it as a premium forum. So those that donate(d) to FV have it available. I'll also consider whether I want it moderated. Again after some deep thought.

Not sure exactly how I feel about the debate forum. There were some really interesting discussions, but it also seemed to create quite a "tension" here at FV...and I certainly don't like that... After all, it's about being frugal and supporting each other...there are plenty of other forums where debates on politics, religion, etc. can take place. I've always enjoyed the camaraderie that we have here...it felt 'weakened' with the debate forums. Lots of 'food for thought', though...
I LOVE the idea of the mentoring option!!! Sounds GREAT!!!
I wouldn't mind if there weren't e-mails automatically generated when scores are beat in the arcade. I just play for fun...don't really care if someone beat me or not...the "you got beat" kinda detracts from the fun of it...Last edited by Luv2BeFrugal; 01-24-2009 at 04:57 PM.

Gabe informed me that the arcade e-mail can be changed in your settings. If you go to the arcade, you'll see settings. Click through and you'll see the section to choose to not receive e-mails.

I love this place and truly can't think of any additions or changes that I need. I agree about the bartering section; sounds like it could be really cool! Thanks for all you do! This has definitely evolved into more than a frugal forum for me.

I also think a bartering section would be a great idea.
