Income Tax Question
We have not received our income tax forms and instruction booklets yet. Usually we have them by this time of year. Have you received yours?
The weird thing is that we have not received them from both the feds and the state. I'm wondering if it is because we had to use a tax preparer last year. Do they assume that you will do so again?Spiritual:

Yeah, I want to tackle it and see how the year went! But we haven't yet received all the forms from employers and savings yet, either.

In 2006 we filed are taxes electronically and so when I didn't receive ares for 2007 I asked around and was told that when you file electronically they assume you will do it again. It may be the same for going through a tax preperer. I picked them up at the library. I filed the old fashion way for 2007 and my Federal (we don't have state taxes) arrived for 2008 about 2 weeks ago.

I don't think we've ever had them mailed to us. We've never done them ourselves though.

I have had mine done for me for a long time now, so I don't get any forms in the mail. I am still waiting one last W2 so I can file.

If you filed electronically or had them prepared by someone else in previous years I don't think they send them to you after that. You can get all the forms for federal at irs.gov...for state forms, you can get them offline also, you just have to go to your state website...hth.

Our W2s are starting to trickle in. They are supposed to be out by the end of the month, and I think a lot of companies wait until the last minute.
No booklets yet. I think the state will send us one.Use it up, Wear it out,

I received my tax booklet the first week of January. DH received his online filing number because we file his taxes online. Now we're just waiting for the tax statements to come, which should be between now and the end of February.

We went thru a tax preparer the last few years. I doubt we go that route this year since income is so low. Seems like I remember picking up the booklets at the post office one year.

We don't get the fed/state tax books but we do get the city. We prepare our own taxes with Turbo tax. I just wish our house papers would hurry up and get here so I can file our taxes.
