This little sharing game is making the rounds on facebook and I thought it would be fun to share here...

1) Even though it took some time to adjust I am happier staying home with my kids than I've ever been- as long as I have a creative outlet.
2) I usally have about 4 books going at the same time... non-fiction/informational, spiritual, book club, and one just for fun (usually a memoir)... it really depends on my mood which one I pick up to read
3) I write every day and if I don't I am off balance.
4) I love to sing and dance but I am REALLY bad at both.
5) I love to travel to new places and have new experiences- whether it's half an hour from home or half way around the world doesn't really matter as much as the newness of it.
6) I am easily bored.
7) My kids AMAZE me.
8) I not only still love my husband, I genuinely LIKE him.
9) Heidelberg, Germany is my favorite place in the entire world.
10) Even though I give him a hard time my little brother is one of my favorite people in the whole world.
11) I try to surround myself with people with differing viewpoints about life... the funny thing is what I've learned most is how much ALIKE we all really are.
12) I've had enough tragedy to know that God doesn't give it to us but He does use it to teach us about ourselves, each other, and Him.
13) I think science teaches us how and spirituality teaches us why... I find why a much more interesting question.
14) I still laugh out loud at Friends reruns... even when I know the joke that's coming.
15) My favorite way to decorate is with pictures I take myself... I even have pics of my kids at the ocean in their beach themed bathroom, lol.
16) If I had no other responsibilities in life I would still have dirty dishes in the sink most of the time for two reasons... one- they are neverending, and two- I HATE to do the dishes.
17) I love board games but dh hates them... sometimes he plays with me anyway.
18) I think the most important thing gained from an education is how to think critically and creatively.
19) We laugh a lot in our house, sometimes until we cry... I hope my kids always remember that.
20) I've tried to like beer but I just can't- I'm a wine-o.
21) As a liberal Christian I usually have to defend my faith to friends who share my political ideals and my politics to friends who share my spiritual ideals... but that's okay, I'm happy to discuss either.
22) I'm a night owl.
23) I remember the people I was with more than the places I have seen from my travels.

1. I obsessively worry about safety. I obsessively lock doors. In the home or in the car. I have a very wild imagination. Once something pops into my head I worry about it. Ex: Husband is cooking. He folds up a paper towel and puts it on the stove in the center. Uses it to put utensils on while he's cooking. Flame burner, paper towel. Not a good mix for me. I actually picture a fire starting. I will not stop looking at it while it's there even with reassurance from husband that he doesn't plan to burn the house down.

2. My favorite color is Green. It took a while for me to have a favorite color. For many many years it was black. My least favorite color? Red. Too intense for me.

3. I love owls, birds, trees, daisies, prairie land, wild flowers and elephants.

4. I'm more fun when I've had a few drinks. (or so I'm told). I haven't been drunk for years. Husband has seen me drunk a handful of times in 10 years. I bet he thinks I'm more fun when drunk too. My favorite drink? Margaritas. Yum. Least Favorite: Anything Dark. Wish I liked... Beer.

6. I have two brothers. One is about 15 years younger than I am. I have two kids. A teenage boy and a 2 year old girl. There is a 12 year age difference between my kids. I do not plan to have anymore.

7. My husband and I were married under a full harvest moon in my aunt and uncles back yard. It was beautiful. We have never been on a honeymoon.

8. I have friends that I have known for 29-31 years.

9. I've always wished I could get on stage and sing.

10. I love making my own cleaning products and bath products. I could sit and look at crafty tutorials and recipes all day long. I wish I had a craft room.

11. After having my son I told myself I would not have any more children outside of marriage. We actually tried before our wedding, and didn't get pregnant until two weeks after our wedding. I say Kaya knew when to arrive. She's been waiting for me to be ready and keep my promise to myself.

12. I have so many interests and sometimes they overwhelm me. I never know what to do first.

13. I miss people. Specifically, My grandmother on my mother's side. Her silly stories about things that were not real. Her smile. My great grandmother on my father's side. She could teach me how to knit and I could make 600 total scarves, mittens, and hats for kids in need like she did the year she passed away. Amazing woman.

14. I dislike violence of any sort. I can't watch fist fights on TV. Boxing. Etc. Especially if there is some sort of head trauma that results from it. I have nightmares about it for days. If I think a fight is going to happen in real life (believe me doesn't happen often at all, can't remember the last time I seen a fist fight) I get horribly anxious, get an instant headache, and need to get out of there ASAP.

15. I should have been a social worker, photographer, or psychologist. or a paid psychic. Just kidding. Maybe.

16. I believe every single person in this world has something good about them.

17. I believe in karma. I believe I've paid the price for Karma too.

18. If I was rich I'd give most of my money to help find a cure for childhood cancer. Seriously. Just thinking about it breaks my heart and brings tears to my eyes.

19. I've been in a protest.

20. I quit volunteering at a rape and sexual abuse center because I couldn't handle it. I wish I could have.

21. Some days I feel like a super hero other days I feel lonely and like a loser.

22. I don't think I can live without my mother. I don't want to.

23. I love jumping on beds and spinning until I fall down.

24. I love being married. I never thought I'd have children or be married. And I love it all.

25. I wish I traveled more.

Only 25? OK. Here goes:

1. Hubby likes my hair to be long, but right now it's short.
2. I'm the thinnest one in my family, but I'm still a few pounds overweight.
3. I adore my grandchildren, and write down what they say.
4. School has been a huge part of my life, ever since I was 5.
5. I grew up in the country, lived in town a bit, and now back in the country for 30 years.
6. I have been blessed by knowing my grandparents and my great grandparents.
7. I can make my own fun.
8. I love fresh flowers in the house.
9. I played flute in marching band and orchestra. I wasn't that great, but it put right by the good looking trumpet player.
10. I'm horrible at sports...... always the last one chosen for the team.
11. Books are my friends (not my only friends, but I consider them to be my friends). I can't bear to throw them away.
12. My Christianity has grown to be a way of life, permeating all decisions.
13. I love to travel, and have been half way around the world and back. Been to every US state except Oregon and Maine.
14. I love my parents and look up to them. I'm blessed to still have them.
15. I dread moving after building our dream home and living here 30 years.
16. I'm not very artsy, but I love trying!
17. I have one living brother and 2 living sisters and 2 deceased sibs. I'm the oldest.
18. I like to TRY to play the piano.
19. I enjoy playing games, and Hubby and I really get into Rummy Kube.
20. I'm very conservative in many areas: politics, religion, dress.
21. I try to be very liberal with my friendships and my giving.
22. I'm retired, but still working!
23. I like to sleep late. For me, that means 7:30 or so. AM, of course.

Great thread!
1. I am rather a bit of an introvert and dh is the opposite. I love being around friends but huge groups exhaust me.
2. I have my B.S. in elem. ed. but I am adamantly pro-homeschool (for my family) AND I never joined the NEA AND while teaching I worked as a local campaign manager for several conservative candidates, that was not popular.
3. I have a fascination with anything historical. I could watch or read anything on the Revolutionary War and never get tired of it.
4. I have some OCD tendancies, I can count how many letters are in the sentence you just said instantly (one of my friends said she was going to put me on Letterman's stupid human tricks!)
5. I married the kindest, hardest working man I have ever met. Even after 10 years of marriage I am crazy in love with him.
6. I love love love dark chocolate I can't keep it in the house because I have no self-control!
7. I love to write, especially in the style of Erma Bombeck I have friends who say I should submit some of my pieces to a local paper, I always say I am too busy -- truth is I haven't found the courage yet.
8. I love being a mom/housewife I really like organizing our lives and making our house a home. I really don't have a lot of ambition to have an exciting career.

I'm loving learning so much about all of you and how much we have in common.

After having my son I told myself I would not have any more children outside of marriage. We actually tried before our wedding, and didn't get pregnant until two weeks after our wedding. I say Kaya knew when to arrive. She's been waiting for me to be ready and keep my promise to myself.

My daughter is also Kya but it's (obviously) spelled differently. She also came when I needed her, not when I expected her.

I love to travel, and have been half way around the world and back. Been to every US state except Oregon and Maine.

I actually did this on facebook last night, but I am going to start a new one here today with a little more detail.

1. I am overweight, and according to my BMI I am obeese. This irritates me. I am big, but obeese....come on. Because of this I want to loose at least 35 lbs before August.

2. I choose August because I have a wedding to stand for. My nephew is getting married and his fiancee wanted me to be a bridesmaid. My nephew is only around 9 years younger then me.

3. I am afraid of bugs and spiders, creepy crawlies and war. Of loosing my children, of not being the best I can be, wife, mother etc.

4. My dh and I have been together for 8 years, and married for 6 1/2. Truthfully it has not always been roses, sunshine, and good, but I love him and he loves me, he helped me thorugh a lot of things that happened in my past, stood by me when the times got tough. And I love him for that very much. Year 7 of us being together was almost the killer for our relationship. But then they say that the 7 year stretch is the hard part and once u get past that it starts to look up. I think "they" are right whoever "they" are. Because things are looking up finally.

5. I worry entirely too much, my mind works overtime, and I worry about things that I shouldnt worry about.

6. My favorite color is Blue. It has been blue for as long as I can remember, but I am sure that at one point in my childhood years I probably liked pink and purple. I do like purple now too lol. Like someone else said here in these posts the color I hate the most is red. I stood for a wedding last year and had to wear red....ugh.

7. When I was in Grade 9 in highschool 13 years ago I cut my hair really short. I have kept it that way for a long time. Every year I try to grow it out and every year I end up cutting it because it gets on my nerves, my hair got natural waves and curly and it sticks off when its growing out. Well I am growing it out now and I am not cutting it. If I do not like its legneth come July (just before the wedding for august) I will get it cut then. But it is getting to the point where I can use a hair straightner.

8. I can type really fast, I did an office administration course, but did not complete it after I had my dd. I believe the last time I was tested (years ago) I could type around 60 words per minute. Not sure what I can do now, weather it be more or less.

9. I was pregnant 4 times within 5 years. My first pregnancy was a miscarriage, although I was not very far along, I was devestated. Then I got Pregnant with DD who is now 7, After that I had DS who is now 5 (they are 22 months apart, her birthday is January, his is November of the following year, they are one year apart in the school system), then I had DS who is almost 18 months old now. I wouldn't change it for the world, I love my children very much.

10. I cannot think off the top of my head of a food that I dislike sooo much that I cannot eat it. Parhaps thats where my weight problem comes from. haha

11. I have never been on a honeymoon. We couldnt afford to go after we got married, and truthfully we havent been able to afford to go since.

12. I have had my ears pierced since I was 10 months old and no matter how long I go without putting earings in they never grow over and I can put them in whenever i need to. I do not wear earrings every day.

13. I love to read, and prefer reading a book over watching tv.

14. I also love to write, but I got writers block a while ago and sometims my writing doesn't seem to be as creative.

15. I love hot dogs. Especially made this way: Bun, cheese slice, then weiner, then add mustard, relish, chopped up onion and then ketchup.

15. I hate winter. But I can say that I am liking this winter better then last winter, its cold but its been sunny and not as much snow.

16. I was bitten by a dog when I was a child and I still have the scar from it. I am still "a little" afraid of dogs. Not all dogs but some.

17. I do not have any special talents.

18. This summer I want to do some fun things with the kids, it seems we wasted a lot of this last year and did not do nearly enough fun things. And fun things do not have to cost money.

19. I cannot watch the news, because if there is anything on there about war and bombing and all that, I get really nervous, it scares me. When 911 occured I was at college, I was pregnant with my daughter, they came in told our class what happened, I packed up my stuff left and walked home with a book bag full of text books and my laptop. It took me around 30 minutes to get home. I was hot and exausted by the time I got there. I did not watch tv for DAYS. Dh and I lived in mother and father in laws basement at this time, If I went upstairs I would tell them I was comming and they respected that It made me nervous and turned the channel.

20. I hate politics. The first time I even ever voted I was 25 or 26 years old. Here u can vote at 19.

21. I love frugal village and have learned tons and tons since I joined this site. And I have made a load of wonderful friends.

22. I secretly wish that I could homeschool my children.

23. I am a stay at home mom. I have three children and for me to go to work is actually pointless. Where I am I would not get much pay, I would have to pay a baby sitter and loose money off my family allowance. So I am not sure If I would make enough for it to be worth it. But at the same time I love being home with my children, I know how they are being treated that way, and I know that they are not getting hurt.

24. I am thinking of working for 4-6 weeks in the summer at the fish plant. Just for some extra money to help with getting the new windows for this house.

25. I am getting hungry, and I must confess it is 1:22 pm here and I have not had anything to eat yet to day, I better go and get my lunch.

Interesting thread.

1) I am proud to be a Girl Scout, and hope to become even more involved as my kids get older.

2) I am a stay at home Mom and housewife. I hate housekeeping. I don't like to cook. I'm a lousy gardener and I can't sew. I'm not altogether sure what qualifications I have for this job, other than love.

3) I am pro-homeschooling, but not anti-public school. I resent the heck out of the fact that people assume all homeschoolers are either religious nuts or hippy freaks.

4) This is my second marriage. The first one was abusive, but I didn't tell anyone that when I left. I left him on our 2nd anniversary.

5) I wish dragons existed.

6) I love music and singing. I wish I were worthy of the gift of music.

7) I love doing crafts, but not sewing.

8) I would love to be better at gardening.

9) I wish I wasn't so afraid all the time. I am sure people are thinking what a loser I am, how pathetic, what a freak. I'm fairly sure this is a result of being the 'outcast' and bully victim of choice for several years of elementary school.

10) I am married to my best friend. Sometimes I think he's my only friend, and that it's a pretty unfair burden for him.

11) I wish I hadn't quit Girl Scouts in 10th grade.

18) I'm seriously addicted to coffee, and have tried several times to quit drinking it.

19) I love love love shoes and hats. Historical is better of course. Shoes of the 20's and 30's are just wonderful.

20) I don't like most modern movies or television shows.

21) I'm told I am a very amusing drunk. I've only been drunk 4 times in my life.

22) my MIL drives me crazy. I know she shouldn't, I know I'm out of line more often than not so I suck it up and deal, but she drives me nuts.

23) Ditto my Mom. Her house is so messy all the time.

24) I believe science and spirituality are two sides of the same coin, are not mutually exclusive, and deserve equal respect from the seeker. Just because we can't explain it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just because we can't explain it doesn't mean we shouldn't keep trying.

25) I usually feel very isolated and lonely, living by my ideals and beliefs in a very religious and conservative area. We moved here for the schools but by the time my kids got into school they'd gone badly downhill.

I love reading these and finding out so much about everyone! Here's mine:

1. I got married 1 day before I turned 19. Everyone said it was the biggest mistake of my life, but almost 12 years later, I think it was the best.
2. My family has never liked DH. For what reason, I'm not sure, but it caused a lot of stress for me until I learned to just put it behind me.
3. I love being a SAHM. I've worked some odd jobs for extra money here and there and when times were tight, but I prefer staying home and filling a more "traditional" role
4. I'm a homeschooler, but it annoys me that most people around our town assume I'm some religious zealot because I homeschool. Not everyone chooses it because of religious reasons!
5. I am soooo not a social person. I could never leave the house again and be content lol. I like one on one interaction but crowds make me anxious
6. I'm too softhearted when it comes to animals. (and they somehow know that lol) That's why I have 5 dogs and 3 cats - all but 1 were rescues
7. I love to cook, but hate all the cleanup that comes with it
8. I typically don't mind household cleaning, but I can't stand mopping. I put it off as long as possible (and sometimes too long!)
9. I'm enjoying that my kids are in their "I want to help mommy phase", they do the sweeping, dusting, dishes, help cook, etc because they ask to do it. I'm sure I'll miss the help in a few years when they don't want to be bothered with it!
10. My dog barks in her sleep - loudly. It wakes me up several times a night.
11. I enjoy gardening and hope to expand my garden this year
12. I can stay calm in stressful situations - it is afterward that I fall apart
13. My DH is a truck driver, and when he was over the road all the time, it made me into a very independent person.
14. I love cooking simple country style foods, but I have one very picky eater in the house - DH!
15. My vacation of choice is camping in the mountains. I don't like the beach that much
16. I can't stand the heat in summer. I get overheated easily and it always brings on a migraine
17. My favorite color is blue. My least favorites are pink and yellow. It was the same when I was a kid
18. I'm not good at multitasking. I have to concentrate on one thing at a time to get it done right
19. I tend to be a perfectionist. I don't expect it from other people, but I expect too much from myself at times.
20. My in-laws are wacko. Not bad people, but I have never seen so much drama in one family in my life. It drives me to distraction sometimes, especially when they want everyone on the outside of the argument to pick sides @@
21. I've been pregnant 3 times. First was a miscarriage that devasted me, then DD, then DS. I don't plan to have any more children.
22. Sometimes I get lonely since I stay home so much, don't have any close friends with similar interests, and DH is gone so much for work, but it is worth it to have a life I enjoy
23. I went to college for only 1 year. I plan to finish out my degree once the children are old enough to not need a babysitter
24. I drive a beat up clunker, that everyone makes comments about, but I've been driving it for 8 years and only paid $500 for it, so it's all good for me! lol
25. I don't watch much tv at all. Part is a time limitation due to other obligations, but the rest is that I find little of interest on anymore.

25 Random Facts....

1. I lost my mother five years ago in August one week after her 52nd birthday. I STILL every year get VERY depressed and cry for about one week between her birthday and the day we buried her. I get physically ill thinking about how I could have "saved" her from time to time and PRAY that I will heal from this emotional scar.
2. My sister is my very best friend. I truly love her although she can drive me crazy sometimes.
3. I belive that God gave me my hubby!!!!! He is the perfect fit for me.
4. I love to lay in bed and watch movies, about twice a year that is exactly what I will do all day (only getting up to potty and eat).
5. I would rather adopt older children than have another baby of my own.
6. I dream of having a big farm house that I can fill with adopted/foster kids.
7. I love to drink!
8. I just love talking to people!
9. I love to shop.
10. My favorite holiday is the 4th of July (it is my birthday)
11. I am GREAT at keeping secrets.
12. I can get VERY angry and when I do, it is like I go out of my mind crazy!

  [24]I have a huge tequila collection, its not just for shots
  [25]I passed out when I got my ears pierced. Tried again years later and vomitted, so I don't have pierced ears.

Here are mine:
1 - I am an NPR junkie. Love following the news.
2 - I hate clutter, but you'd never know it if you looked at my bedroom.
3 - I don't enjoy cooking, so I try to do it only once a month (or make as many meals at a time when I do have to cook). I love my freezer.
4 - I do like to bake and have an endless appetite for cookies.
5 - I am thankful for the church God has given us! And realize that from those who much has been given, much will be asked from.
6 - I have a fake front tooth.
7 - Not only do I love my hubby of 6+ years, I also REALLY like him!
8 - I learn the most about myself from my kids. They are little mirrors repeating things I never knew I did.
9 - I love to read but never seem to have any time to do so.
10 - One of my greatest accomplishments is paying off 20K of debt while making 8$ an hour and all in less than 18 months.
11 - For "dates" my hubby and I like to go and read books at Barnes & Noble and share a frappe.
12 - I love routines.
13 - A good day is one where the kids and I dance to something silly and decorate ourselves and maybe a paper with some markers or shaving cream.
14 - I love Texas because of it's weather & the people... but I really wish I were in the mountains.
15 - I had a higher g.p.a. in college than my hubby, but had to work twice as hard for it.
16 - I was a model once... as a child, that was me pushing the "Hello Kitty" lawnmower.
17 - I dread getting my hair trimmed and have hated every manicure/makeover I have ever had.
18 - I hate following directions, a map or a pattern... maybe that's why I don't enjoy cooking.
19 - I hope to homeschool my kids and am thrilled and terrified of the prospect.
20 - I love anything and everything crafty.
21 - My goal in life is to raise children who love God and put others needs and desires before their own.
22 - I like 80s TV Cop shows (Columbo, Sherlock Holmes, Quincy ME, etc.)
23 - Whining, computer games & bad smells really annoy me.
24 - I have too much time on my hands as a SAHM, hence a post about 25 random things - lol.
25 - I love my life and where I am right now!

1. I dislike chocolate - but will eat it if you put it front of me.
2. I'm a SAHM and love it.
3. I dropped out of college to get married to dh - I have more credits than you need to graduate (switched majors) but no degree.
4. I don;t care that I have no degree, cause I never, ever plan to work outside the home....EVER!
5. I love big thuderstorms, tornadoes, the whole bit.
6. I homeschooled my kiddos for the first 2.5 years, the last 3.5 they have been in either public or private school - next year, we are going back to homeschooling.
7. I was engaged to someone else before I met hubby.
8. Glad I didn't marry HIM!
9. I am passionate about my relationship with Christ - I want to "sense" Christ at the very core of my being.
10. I love to be in either silence (like right now) or listening to music...really REALLY loud! Go figure!
11. I love worship music - I want it so loud that when I am singing at the top of my lungs, I cannot hear myself.
12. That;s cause I love to sing, but cannot sing!
13. I was raised a conservative baptist, but I am trying to bring out the "holy roller" trapped inside of me
14. I was a cheerleader in high school.
15. I did not have my first kiss untill I was 15 1/2.
16. Hubby and I are each others "only one"
17. I don't have a favourite colour at all
18. I love to scrapbook, but other than that, I'm not crafty at all.
19. I'm totally stuck up when it comes to coffee - give me Starbucks or give me death!
20. I can taste the difference between decaf and real coffee
21. I have moved somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 times in my life...getting ready for 23.
22. This next move really and truly should be the last one....for a long time, anyway!
23. Hubby wants to vacation to Mexico, I want to go to Alaska
24. I love winter, and intensely dislike summer.
25. I'm 5'8" and weigh 135 (trying to go back to 129, however)
