    Unhappy I just got word...

that when I finish up year end and finish filing for January that I will no longer have a job... It has been on the horizon for the last 2 months but it is official now. BF has been out of work for 8 months with no successful leads and I have been applying for 3 months.. and nothing..I am trying to stay positive..we have a trailer that we could move into that is paid off if we need to. How is everyone else holding up in this time of such hard times?

I am so sorry about your bad news. I'm glad you're trying to stay positive and have other living options if need be. Do you have any close family or friends to call on if you need to?

    Brandi,

I sure wish I had something to tell you. My husband has been out of work for over a year and has been delivering pizzas and doing handyman work. Times are real tough out there. I'm glad you have a place to go, having a roof over your head is really important. We have been holding on by a thread, but we are holding on. What have we done is...
took things to Goodwill for tax write offs
    had several yard sales
    sold our second car
    No cable
    No expensive computer hook up
    basic land phone service
No buying anything unless it is a need
    eating beans every day
We take our vitamins and get good rest to try to stay healthy
No movies, dinners out, nights out with friends, only free events
use triple coupons and get stuff for free or almost free
    sign up for freebies
    shop dent and scratch
buy mostly staples/ as long as you have flour, baking powder, baking soda, milk powder, shortening, oil, vinegar, eggs, sugar, vanilla, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, dried beans, onions and potatoes you have the makings for all kinds of meals and desserts.

Hang in there Brandi, the economy has to rebound sooner or later. I'm hoping for sooner.

Ahhh sweetie I am really sorry -- you're my neighbor here in I.F. aren't you? It is never a good time to be out of work, and especially having to look at moving during this bitter cold we have been having. I wish I knew a good lead for you, one thing I know that some ladies are doing is cleaning homes there still seems to be a pretty good demand here for that. And of course I think Winco and Wal-Mart are always looking for night help, that might be something while you are still looking. Again I am really sorry!! I hope things work out quickly.
