Default I was thiiiiiissss close to getting a "new" car...

It felt right for the days I was thinking about it, I even went in, and they were having to ship it down here from another of their offices, and I'd okay'd that. But I'd been thinking about it all afternoon and evening, and it was just not feeling right anymore. Don't you hate it when your guts make you feel sick?

The car was so close to being perfect... couldn't "see" any space there between me and it, in my mind... But the moment I decided, it was like... what would Greebo say... or my penny pinching brother I'm trying to be like or...

So I called them, just over 35 minutes ago, so they'd have time to try to get ahold of the other office and cancel the delivery of it. Told them that I'd been running the financing again, and it just wasn't going to work, things being tight, the way the economy is right now... etc....

And my guts are feeling better. still got the bugs making me pace, a touch icky, but chicken soup should be good...

And I'm not facing 5 years of car debt!

Those gut feelings when we listen can really save us sometime. When that happens it is always best to pay attention to those feelings. Glad you were able to dodge that one.

You sure did dodge a bullet. Around here, they are so desperate to sell cars they've started a buy one get one free type deal or 30% off of the MFSR price.

Congratulations on the miss of 5 years of debt.

Been there, even took it home then drove it back the next day for them to have it back.

I know how exciting that feeling is to get a new car. Before I wouldn't have cared about the payments. Now, I don't want to have one again.

Last night after parking my car in the garage I was looking at it and I realized it is 7 years old, and it still looks very good, and I still love it. I think I will be driving this one for 7 more years.

Congrats on making a tough decision...sometimes those shiny new objects are so tough to resist!

We are counting on the desperation of car dealers. We plan to purchase 2 used cars in June and are hoping to get a crazy good deal, since we are paying cash. Dh actually wants to walk in with a wad of cash and wave it around in front of the dealers face, just to watch the cartoon-esque dollar signs show up in his eyes!

We need two cars, we've been sharing one for a long time and the truck is 12 years old with almost 200K miles on it, so it's about time to retire it! It's done right by us, but we need something else before we have to start tanking a ton of money into it!

This little Bluick (I told Dad once that he should get a blue buick, but it came out bluick) is going to have it's 12th birthday this year. And it's paid for. Sure, I should get some things done on it, but who cares that the tape deck is quircky, giving me the "E13" message? I don't use it. Shrug.
