Guess my family is not the only one.
DH is working for a company that places him where work is needed.. A contracting job I guess... Well the place where he is now is closing. We knew this going into this contract, but were assuming and hoping that the job would be around for the entire six month contract. Well last week he found out that he could be out of a job as soon as two weeks or as long as the end of May... UGGGHHH!!!! This is the second time in less than a year that DH will be without a job. Hopefully the company he is actually employed through will have another place for him to go... I guess I will be looking for a job sooner than planned. Fingers crossed that his employer has another job opening somewhere close....

It seems like so many of us are hanging on by our fingernails. The stability we once took for granted is gone I spoke with my Dad yesterday about the great depression (he was having a good day mentally) I asked him how they coped with the uncertainity of not having a job or even eating. He said they held firm to their family and always believed things would get better and never gave up He told me dont forget to laugh this too shall pass

I'm sorry to hear about this. The husband of a good friend of mine has his own contracting business and also does work for another company. No one has been doing any building on their homes recently, and so he's been out of work for a few months. I know it's tight, and I'm sorry to hear this is happening to you too!

Hopefully, his company will be able to move him seamlessly into another poisition somewhere else. It would be easier if they could give him a more definitive answer on when they'll be done there, so the company can place him somewere else!
Dh worked years in the construction industry and got out last march, and it was the perfect time for him to find something else. He worked off and on for 7 years for 2 companies (a roofer and during the winters a lumber delivery company) and now both companies are gone. Luckily, he found something outside of construction!
Keep your chin up...all this craziness won't last forever!
