New Pay Cycles, Yep its a rant
DH came home today to explain his new pay cycles. No more 1st & 15th it is now every other Friday. The first Friday of the month will be regular pay/salary and the other will be incentive pay.
Fine.
Incentive pay is not bonus, it is commissions due. Even if your salary is commission only, the new company is looking at commission as incentive. Heck all pay one gets for their work is incentive. Commissions are now paid 45-60 days after the "sale". He won't get paid for any January until the 27th of February.
Luckily, him as a manager he will get a his little salary minus all the well known fees this Friday and then he can explain to his sales force why thy are not getting any checks based on their hard work until the end of next month. It won't be a pretty day in that office.
Tomorrow morning I am looking at our budget and will restructure based on this fresh new information....and the probably cry a little because of the stress pull myself back together and be grateful that we are still getting checks and able to pull something together to move forward.
Thanks for listening.patticakes

That's tough to have to adjust your budget when they shift pay cycles. You get used to doing things one way and then, Wham! Time to change it all up.
Sounds like you've got the right attitude and I'm sure you'll adjust quickly.

We've had that happen to us before and it really is a major PIA. Sorry you're having to deal with it.

Yep, the salary is really small to justify the title. Most of his income is commission. The company talks about bonuses but it has seemed like shooting the invisible man, I don't understand how that all works out and doubt if I ever will.
I am also on commission and *luckily* my company wants to pay us as quickly as possible so that will be the way we will get thru the beginning of the month.patticakes

I'm sorry about this - such changes really through everything into disarray.
And I really, really feel for him having to the bearer of such bad news to his co-workers. I hope they don't take it out on him. He'll surely already feel bad enough about it.Donna
