Default Taxes are finished & filed as of Saturday morning

We started working on our income tax return Friday a week ago and had everything but my 1099-int intrest statement from the credit union where I bank and hubby's 1099-g from where he had unemployment back from Mid Feb-March last year after his resturant closed down.

Those both came on Friday and we finished them up Saturday morning. We use Taxact so we did it all electronically and as soon as we get the e-mail or text message that its been approved it we should have our money in 10 day's or so (it works out great that it usually comes around the time we are splurging for Paige's b-day which is the 10th).

Anyone use taxact or have there taxes filed yet?

I filed my taxes on 1/16 and they were just deposited this past Friday. I have been chomping at the bit to have them deposited. I put $$ into my emergency fund and paid off some debt. I am still not where I would like to be (DEBT FREE) but now I feel like I am getting closer.

I haven't done my taxes yet, but I am planning to get started today. I usually file with Tax Cut software.

We got the email yesterday late that they had been submitted and should know by later today or tomorrow if it was accepted or not.

I hope we don't have to make any changes to it......I really want that money to come in so it can help me get ahead on bills since I will be out of work most of March and some of April.

I filed on Tax Act last night. I have both confirmation messages, and should get the refund around the 13th - $221. It's headed for the emergency fund. Almost as good, I only owe the state $4. So this is a good year for me.

Our confirmation message is most likely is as well. Joe had it sent to his email and the text alert to his phone and he was at work til late last night and had to be in at 6 this morning so as soon as he gets home I should know if we are good to go or not. The 13th would be great for us too as we are having the family up for Paige's b-day on the 14th.

Joe said the accepted message was in his email with the date of on or about Feb 13th for the refund to be deposited. Last year we got it a day or 2 earlier than it said, but I think in '07 we got it the day they said we would. I'm just glad its done and we don't have to worry about them again until next year.

DH and I filed ours on Friday too using TurboTax online for $31.45 (includes tax) we should have our refund on the 13th... YAY! Enough time to pay off the washer and dryer from Home Depot before our 12 months no payments no interest ends.

We also filed our state and city already too! I even did my son's taxes as well, so we're all set and done.

I finished ours yesterday.(turbotax) I thought they were done on Friday but on Saturday we got the form for dh's $800 in unemployment so I had to add that in. Now we are just waiting on the closing of our house so we get the $7500 ( i know it is technically a loan, but that's ok). We will be getting quite a bit back besides the new home credit, so we will be paying off all our credit cards - about $6000. That will leave us about $205 extra a month to put in our savings on top of what we already save. It will be great to be rid of these. Then we can start working on school loans (currently deferred) and on our car loan. We are also going to use the tax return to get a woodstove for our basement. I'd also like to get a sewing machine. I'm sure there will be other things we will need for the new house also (I know we will need window treatments - which is why I want the sewing machine: at least I could do the ones for the bedrooms and save some money)
