    Default Turbotax issues....

I filed our taxes and they were accepted on the 19th. The IRS cycle chart and TT both say refund on the 30th. No refund yet. IRS site at first said the 3rd, then the 10th. TT still says the 30th. I've looked all through TT support center and lots of people are having the same issue.

Anyone else going through this? If this isn't in the right place, feel free to move it.

I'm in the exact same boat. Filed on the 20th or so and turbotax said 30th for my return. No refund yet.

My guess is that Turbotax used the refund schedule to calculate your date based on when you filed it. They didn't get that date from the IRS regarding your case specifically. Maybe there were so many people who filed the first couple weeks expecting a refund that there's a bit of a backlog.

The IRS - if they're operating the same as they have been in years past- do their deposits on Thursdays. Where's my refund on the IRS website says I'll get it NLT the tenth. I'm guessing it comes in towards the end of this week.

This is the schedule I'm talking about...
    http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p2043.pdf

Turbotax probably just mechanically pulled up the numbers.

Here's a different one but they have different dates? I don't know where these guys got their numbers.

They do just mechanically put it in the numbers based loosely on the schedule given to them by the IRS.

Normally, they are pretty spot on with the numbers...but if you file at a time that is particularly busy (right towards the end of Jan, when every one is finally getting their W-2's and filing) it might take a week longer! I would be looking for it next Friday! And Nishu...I think you're right, I think they file them at "midnight" on a Thursday, which means they are made available to you no later than business on the friday morning (or however your bank does it...some show them immediately at midnight).

Hopefully, you'll get it at the end of this week!

Never used TurboTax so I can't say I am having that problem. Have you tried calling the 800 number for the IRS that can track your refund and give you a better idea? Good luck, hope it comes in soon.

We filed our taxes with Turbo tax's e-file Jan 27. It was accepted by the government the next day, and I recieved an email stating they should be in our bank account Feb 6th. When I went to the IRS where's my refund link it stated they would be there by the 10th of Feb. I do believe that the Federal returns are deposited on Fridays not sure the exact time. While state can be on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

We will see if we get ours on the date Tubro tax stated we would.

I hope you get yours really soon.

This is an IRS issue, not a Turbo Tax issue. The IRS will pay you when they pay you...

I am not sure if this is what's happening but I used Turbo tax and my deposit was said to be for 1/30. When I was checking on the IRS website it stated that my dd was deposited on 1/23. I called the IRS as well as a bunch of other people about the issue. It was fixed and I did receive my refund on 1/30. I am not sure what they are doing over there at the IRS.
I think too depending on the refund load then they have to spread out the dates and there really is not rhyme or reason for it.

If you are expecting a large refund, my advice is of course to change your withholding so that next year they aren't keeping your money interest free for so long. We never get a refund ,so that isn't an issue with me, although I do use Turbo Tax almost every year.

My dd filed their taxes on Jan. 16th and their refund was in their account on January 29th (Tax Slayer). My ds filed their taxes around the same time and there is some issue with some of the returns having routing & acct. # issues and his is one of them (Turbo Tax).

I'd contact the IRS and see if they can help you.

I'm going to be a brat and say don't bother contacting the IRS until you've checked the "Where's my refund" feature. Both the preprinted IRS schedule and Turbotax will tell you that they make no guarantees as to when the money actually gets sent to your account, so they probably won't even help you until after the NLT date on the Where's my refund form.

    Default IRS refunds

All... The IRS controls the speed at which refunds are processed. It has nothing to do with the tax software you may use. As for TurboTax, we use the schedule provided by the IRS to give you guidance as to when you should expect the refund. It is an estimate only.

I can tell you that this past and current week are probably the second busiest time of the tax season for the IRS. That may account for why some refunds are taking longer than expected. The other thing to consider is that your refund date is determined by when your return was accepted, not submitted.

You made the right choice to e-file even though the refund wait may appear long. On average, it's 10 days for an e-filed return and 4-6 weeks for a paper filed return.

I hope this information helps. Enjoy your refund!

My return was accepted on the 19th. Which is what, 11 days before the 30th? Still no refund. I was going by the IRS refund cycle chart, which said the 30th. I called the bank, nothing pending. I can say that I've been all over the TT site and there are lots of people having this problem. No one else is who used a different preparer. Coincidence? I think not. My state was accepted the 27th or 29th, I can't remember. That hit my acct today. FWIW, I did check the "Where's my refund" feature, that's what I was talking about in my first post. It first said the 30th, then the 3rd, then the 10th. *shrug*

Don't count weekends in the 10 days, IIRC.
