have any of you ever gotten together.....
so i know alot of you have been around here for a long time and have gotten to 'really' know each other... have any of you ever gotten together and met in person ???
i belonged to an exercise site for a few years and i met a girl (we were both looking for a fitness partner in our area) (which neither of us found by the way)...anyway one day in the chat room we started chatting and then moved it to private chatting... we talked for about 9 months and then one thanksgiving i invited her and her boyfriend to come visit my dh and i (they are from minnesota...us from indiana)....they came...we hit if off even better....the next summer i flew out to spend a few days with her....and just last month we went on a vacation with two other girlfriends for a week...
we chat 2-3 times a day by e-mail...and talk on the phone a couple times a month...
so see the friendships that form in these kinds of places can turn out to be pretty awesome...i'm glad i met her and i'm glad for places like this where it has made it possible....

I've met a few of the gals here......
here's a funny story:
This summer I was at a baseball game with my family and this woman walks up to me and says "Are you IntlMom from the village?" ?????
Imagine my suprise when she says, I recognized you from your avatar!!!

I've met several people from this site. We had regional get-togethers a while back.
Lori lives close enough, we garage sale together, etc. and when Robin came to visit her -- I got to meet her too.
Melody, Carolyn (no longer on this site, I believe), Marcia, uhm . . . I know I'm forgetting some. . .I've been sick - so forgive me.

Ive not met anyone from the village but i did meet one of my best friends online - we met up and have been friends for a good 6+ years now. Also met a few others off another forum i used to be a part of. I would like to meet other villagers but for me its not possible with most people, maybe some of the UK'ers i could.

No, I have not personally met anyone from the Village, but I think it would be fun to have a "reunion" of sorts. I feel a real kinship with some of the ladies here. And there are many who seem so interesting to just sit and share coffee with and talktalktalk........

On a trip 2 years ago to Ohio to visit friend I made a special side trip to meet Frugalfarmwife. She is a wonderful warm person and I miss her posts.
Also while working on a remodel for Applebee up in Inverness I took time to go and meet baxjul. We had a wonderful afternoon even my DH who got dragged along enjoyed meeting both my frugal friends.
I've also encourage several folks here in my hometown to join after visits throught freecycle. Gotta pass on the good things in life.
I look forward to meeting many more in the future.

I havent met anyone from here...but cmdarlin and I did meet online and she sent me here! We were both part of a country music fan club and another ancient chat site! We went on a trip to Nashville together and she has visited me here in Nova Scotia and I have visited her home as well. We also travelled together with our DH's to South Carolina where we got married a day apart and stood for each other! I love my *sister by choice*!!!

Do you realize that it was back in 1996?! I was sorting through stuff int he basement last weekend and found the very first penpal letter we wrote each other. I too am very thankful for my 'sister by choice'. Love you too Sis!
