If you wouldn't mind....
Could you say a quick prayer that I will be able to help my band kids today? We lost one of our Band Dads yesterday and our kids are so upset. He was one that would do anything and everything for those kids and they are devestated. I know that I need to be strong for them but this comes one week after I lost my cousin and quite frankly I don't know if I can do this without prayers guiding me through it. Thank you.

I am so sorry to hear of what is obviously a great loss to all of you. I believe because you are also feeling the loss, you will be great at helping these kids as you will know some of what they need to get through it

Don't be strong for the sake of the kids. It is good and healthy for them to see you grieving as well. It will make them feel more comfortable with their own grieving. Maybe talk to them all about it today and give everyone a chance to talk about it.

Thank you for the prayers and kind words. We did make it through the day, with a few tears and alot of stories and laughter...which made it so much easier to handle. I spent the day at work getting alot of texts & phone calls from my high schoolers (it was from our high school band) while trying to work with my elementary kids. My principal was ok with it....he knew what was going on. I kept getting texts that started with ....do you remember... and then the story would start. They of course got a big kick out of the fact that it takes me forever to reutrn a text....alot of the parents are stepping up for our kids so we do have a large support base in place.
