    Default Super Walmart .......

and at the checkout I handed the cashier my gift cards that I wanted to use and of coarse they wouldn't scan so the cashier had to put the light on for the supervisor to come and do whatever they do to get to work..so I of coarse have ppl behind me in line and several minutes passed by and the cashier was getting upset because her line was getting longer and still no one showed up to help her so she decided to go find the superviser herself and leave me standing there so I turned to the person behind me and said I'm so sorry for the holdup and the woman said don't worry about it's not your fault it's the stores fault for not having enough staff or management around to help..then she continues to tell me her daughter works there and that they have fired/laid off or have cut peoples hours by quite a bit...I was kinda of taking back by that considering this store is "Alway's Packed" and your lucky to find a parking spot..I would of never thought that this particuliar store was having any issues..but it goes to show you no one is immuned to our failing economy..anyway in the end my whole situation ended up taking about 40 minutes to figure out my gift cards and my total after gift cards was a whole $7.00 so it worth all the waiting.. But I will think twice before I do that again..

I merchandise 2 walmarts in our area twice a week. The merchandising has to be done in the evenings, so by the time I am done at the 2nd walmart, no one is there!! I get what I need then!!

I didn't get there until later in the afternoon...I normally get there before 10.00am during the week days after my kids go to school .. I usually only go every two weeks..I should mention that it's a 45 minute commute one way and I had my boys with me and it was a Saturday...another thing I forgot to mention is alot of the shelves were wiped out..I've only seen it like this one other time at this particular store that was another good indication that something wasn't right..

I always run early in the morning. Our Walmart is open 24 hours and we have gone there in the middle of the night (usually after being at a friends house) and it is more busy at 2 am than at 2 pm!

You are right... no one is immune and even though I don't really like Wal-mart and don't shop there much I recognize that it is a source of employment for many people. They have pretty much cut cashiers as much as possible so it makes sense that manager level positions would follow.

our wal-mart never has enough cashiers...but they have been that way since they opened...it wasn't the economy...it was them being in-considerate of their shoppers....its all about the almighty dollar.....and it's not OUR dollar they are caring about....

Reason #1,570,394 why gift cards have never made any sense to me. If people want to give money, why don't they just give money? It can be used anywhere instead of just at one place, and you hardly ever have to get a manager to help you spend it.

Luckily, we live 70 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart. We rarely shop there because we find so many items that the shelf price and the price at the till do not match. Since it's NEVER in our favor, we have reached the obvious conclusion that it's intentional. As the old saying goes, it's easier to cheat a million people out of a dollar than a million dollars out of one person. Did I mention the attitude we get when we ask for someone to verify the price? And the worse attitude we get when we're proven right 99% of the time? I also hate Wal-Mart because every stinkin' time we go there, I have things on my list to buy that most any similar store will carry, but not them. Plus staff is poorly trained, and certain stores are CONSTANTLY changing things around so you're forced to run all over looking for things, during which time of course you find more things to buy. We've also noticed the difference in quality between a lot of Wal-Mart's merchandise and other places, how much less well-kept Wal-Marts are in general than similar stores, and how they are so often more expensive on things than other places. It's gotten to the point that, if an opportunity arises to shop at Wal-Mart, we do everything we can to avoid going there.

I have a daughter who is a department manager at a Wal-Mart and we wish she could find a better opportunity. However, in this economy she's lucky to have a job, so for that reason alone I'm hoping Wal-Mart remains successful till the economy starts to pick up again.

This is true of essentially all my local Wal-Marts as well (even though I try to avoid them as much as possible).

I drive an extra 10 minutes right past the Walmart to get to Target. I WILL NOT shop there. Period.

I have friends that work in our local Walmart and they are laying off there too. It takes forever to get checked out in there anymore. I do need to choose a better time to shop.

Well I tell you... I worked for Wal-Mart when Sam was still alive.. and it has gone down hill since his death!!!! Its one of the many reasons I dont' shop there unless I HAVE too! In two years I have been there twice and it was 2 times too many. People are overworked.. overwhelmed and some are just plain rude!!!! And honestly I can find things cheaper on sale in other stores... sigh
