Default Government hiring for 2010 census

Just a heads up I saw that the government is gearing up for the 2010 census and they are hiring lots and lots of people to do the leg work. This could be helpful to those that are being hit with lay-offs. I don't know how to link but the site is something like
    2010census.gov. Might be worth a look-see!

Here is the link that I found. Don't know if it is the same one you saw.

There is a convoluted way to do the links, or you can do what I do, which is just copy the link from the website, then paste it in the body of the thread. Seems to work just as well as going to the link icon and doing it that way.

I did the census ten years ago, as a reinterview crew leader. It was a lot of fun and the money was awesome. I can't risk losing my not-quite-full-time job at minimum wage to do it this time around. The boss would not be happy if I took a few months off to make more money, I need this job in the long run. Great opportunity for many though.

I took the test and got a perfect score. Hubby took it too and did well enough to get a call. I'm hoping for one late in the spring. I'll be off this summer and hubby may well be hunting for a job after graduating from school. It would be a great way for us to generate some extra money for savings and to pay off the student loan.

My sister is doing this because her job was cut down to 20 hrs.
The pay is $17.00 an hour.
    She is very happy.

This could be helpful to those who need extra cash or are laid off. Hope I don't need it. So far I have my job and so does my husband. You never know when the economy could effect you.

Even though I have a full time job I think I am going to look into this. I could always use the extra money for debt and household items. Thanks!

I did this 10 years ago also....I used it to fund new carpet for our house! The higher you score on the test, the better job you are qualified for. I did *office work* reviewing forms and doing data entry...also, I signed up for swing shift which paid more. It was good pay, but the most boring job I've ever had!! I do think I'll look into it agan though.....it's good extra money.
