I really don't know if you are truly asking if it is time but if you are I have to say it depends on what you are growing. It is still early for most things.

I am in the same boat. Everything is ready to go, but after temps in the 70s, we are expecting snow Friday. Sigh. Will have to wait a few more weeks.

We've had a couple really nice days, so Spring Fever is rearing it's head - especially with every seed and gardening catalog that comes in the mail.

What zone are you in? My sister in south Texas already has green beans up 6-inches and much of her garden going strong. I'm in the middle of Kansas (zone 6) and have another month to go before I can get REAL serious. Lots of prep. work yet to do around here.

Next week I'll set up my cold frame and get an early start on cool-season crops - leaf lettuce and spinach. Last year we had 2 snow storms in late March and I was outside sweeping snow off my cold frame so I could pick some greens. That's about all I can do this early.

We need to reattach our rain barrels (1,000-gallon capacity with containers all around the house). They are my main source of water for the garden and landscape.

I'll plant some potatoes in black plastic leaf bags on St. Patrick's Day (a tradition between my brother and I). The winter onions will be ready to begin harvesting in a couple weeks.

By mid-March I can get broccoli, peas, and radishes started, and more leaf lettuce, but I'll plant it in flower pots. About the time the lettuce is done, I'll renew the soil and plant the pots with 1/2-price annuals.

Mid-August the annuals have been beat to death by the Kansas heat and wind, and I'll take those out, renew the soil and plant more leaf lettuce for a fall crop. In June I'll plant a fall crop of potatoes.

WHEW! I'm worn out just thinking about it.

Whew Grainlady...you wore me out just reading your post!!! LOL Good luck on the garden this year. I am going to have to get out my seed packets and start thinking about starting them indoors. I think I will set up a table in front of my window in the living room (it won't look pretty, but it will work for me).

We started most of our stuff this past weekend. Onions will get started next week, just because we will have to build a new tray for them and just didn't get to it.

Squash, zucchinni and beans have NOT be started, we will direct sow them in another 2 months or so.

i know i can't plant anything yet...i am just ANXIOUS!

i am going to start tomato, peppers & lettuce in the garage and i built this goofy looking tent out of plastic that hangs from the ceiling and i can create a 'green-house' around the shelves that i hung in the window so they will stay nice and warm...the only other south facing windows i have are inside and my cats will tear anything i try to grow to shreds...plus probably play in the dirt and all kinds of other things i haven't even thought of yet....i keep hearing that you can grow those 3 things year round...so we will see...

i have everything else ready to go...i have the dates from the county extension office as when to plant what and i wrote all the dates on the seed packets and i have them organized by date as when to start the seeds....so when the time comes....

Still a little early for me. I started too soon last year, and ended up frantically transplanting everything into larger and larger containers, so they wouldn't get rootbound before it was warm enough to put them outside.

I did get a bunch of Earthboxes set up, and I will probably plant all my peas this weekend, but for now, I'm keeping myself satisfied by planting my windowbox gardens.

I'm in zone 9 and it's definitely time to plant the spring veggies. We just finished picking up the rest of our seeds, seed potatoes and onion sets at the feed store a week ago and last weekend we spent time weeding and cultivating the garden since it's been unused after we took out the last of the broccoli and cauliflower from the winter plantings. This Saturday I will be adding some nutrients and goodies and Sunday all of the seeds and sets for spring will be going into the ground. I can't wait for those days of spending most of the day out in the garden.

It's time to start seeds in Oklahoma. My sis is doing tomatoes, peppers and onions.

I'll be starting, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower. I have baby swiss chard growing from what was left in the garden over the winter so I will be making a swiss chard quiche on friday, yummm.

I will start my onions in the greenhouse probably this week. We were going to set it up last week but we had wind gusts up to 40mph, dh thought it would be like a kite than a green house
