wiper blades
I took dh to work this morning in pea soup fog amd rain. After all the backseat driving I finally get him to work and start home. About 4 miles from the interstate my wipers decide that they are going to come loose. We just got the wipers Friday and can't them to stay tight even though they snap into place. I got to the little store about 4 miles form my house and after about 1/2 an hour a kind soul was able to get one of the old ones on tight enough to get me home. I didn't run the wipers on the way home. I figured I'd be off looking for a wiper blade in the jingle bunny bushes if I turned them on. This is the second set that's done this. These things are too expensisve to keep getting new ones. They are what the book calls for but just won't stay tight. What's worse is that this afternoon we're suppose to get heavy rain and high winds. Might be an interesting 30 mile trip. I'll be the one with my head stuck out the window driving down the road. lol

If you have an autozone near you, go in and play the girl card (I love doing this, and do it all the time when DH needs me to do anything car related). Explain to them whats going on, and that you can't get them to stay on (in your most girlie, helpless tone) and usually, they'll come out to the parking lot and get them on their for you!

(PS~I normally don't advocate playing the helpless female roll...but sometimes it's just the easiest way to get things done!

Our autozone asked me if I wanted them to install wiper blades. I said SURE! Then the guy proceeded to put them on the wrong sides. They are 2 different lengths. Now I don't know how to put them on right and he threw away the package. Sometimes it is better to learn to do these things by yourself. The instructions come with the wiper blades.

Tip: Always keep bread bag twist ties in your glove compartment. They come in handy to tie your wiper blade back on. This happened to me as well, DH put one one (it is thin enough to get it through the base and the part that is attached to your car and they are strong enough while using the wipers to last until you get home). Actually mine are still on my one wiper....when you have a mechanic for a husband they never want to do anything to your car!!!
