Does this make sense?
So we have had DD in daycare because I was working the two jobs and we got it partly subsidized. So we pay 290 a month. She goes every other day because she goes to school the other days. So DH and I are trying to find ways to save money. So I was thinking of telling work that I could work the 5-9 pm shift and the weekends. And the days DD is in school until the summer and then just the 5 -9 pm and the weekends. We would save almost 300 dollars. And even if I got one 4 hour shift a week and with the dog sitting we would be further ahead then we are right now. It would mean though not looking for any outside of the house work until she started school again and was full time in the fall. I am hoping that if we do this that maybe there will be more work come the fall. And I know because it would be getting into the busy season at my work that I could get more hours. Does it make sense to do this or to hold out and keep paying for the daycare in hopes that I find another job soon? What would you do?

Personally, I would talk to my job and see if they would go with the weekend hours, then take her out of daycare. Back when I was working, I was able to do that, and it just made sense to me to save the money!
Then, in the fall, when she is in school you can take on whatever is available and won't have to worry about paying for a full day of daycare!

Sounds to me like it is a double bonus to you if your work can accommodate you.
1. you save money in Day Care and
2. your child gets to spend more time with parnets instead ods strangers.
If it makes sense for your family and you will be no worse off financially I say go for it!Debt 1 - Paid in Full (originally $750)
Debt 2 - Paid in Full (originally $2100)
Debt 3 - Paid in Full (originally $3500)
Debt 4 - Paid in Full (originally $4000)
Debt 5 - Paid in Full (originally $3000)
FFEF - Fully Funded with 6 months of expenses as of July 2009
Next Step - House deposit

If you'd be better off financially by pulling her out of daycare then I'd do it! It would benefit the whole family!

I would do it. I eventually quit working because it was almost costing me money to work (other reasons too of course). She could be with her dad on the weekends when you work. Any chance you could find a grandmother type or teen to cover your babysitting needs if needed. Much cheaper than daycare as long as it is a trusted person.
