Hello from the City of Subdued Excitement!
That really is our town motto..I didn't even make it up.
I love this place. I like to think I'm a frugal person, but some of you put me to shame!
Seriously, I had no idea you COULD make your own laundry soap..
I brought my suitcases..I'm moving in to the frugal village! It has nice neighbors!

Wow, I guess they are all about keeping their expectations low!

I'm in an area of California known as Gold Country, living in a town literally translated as "The Gilded One," but it used to be called Mud Springs, because it was so muddy from cattle being run through it. We are next to a city that used to be called Hangtown because apparently they used to hang a lot of people there.
I don't think we have a city motto. It would probably be, "Don't get the town muddy, or we'll hang you."

Yeah, I love the town motto...It's like your tourism group is saying come here and have fun, but not too much fun....
I welcome you from DeKalb, IL the "barb city". Apparently, our only claim to fame, (other than Cindy Crawford) is that they invented barbed wire here... woo hoo! The poor high school kids mascot is the Barbs!
Glad to have you aboard! I've already seen you participating in posts, so I'm glad to see your jumping right in!
