    Default A Louisiana newbie

    Hi all..
    I am so happy to have found Frugal Village, it's such a great site! I've been researching online for ways to reduce/get rid of our debt, become more frugal, live our lives within our means and "retrain" our brains and not acquire anymore debt. It will also hopefully encourage our kids to live the same way.

    We hail from the soggy, beaten, thrashed, drowned and re-arranged land/coast who has been so kindly visited by Katrina, Rita, Gustav, and Ike (hurricanes, for those of you scratching your heads..) so we have really learned "roughing" it, being practical, how to do without and appreciate what we have.

    I've looked at coupon sites, tightwad tips, debt-programs, mommy blogs, on and on, until my head is spinning!! But I'll eventually get my act together!

    Welcome from Shreveport. You folks do take a beating down there. Here's wishing you the best for the upcoming hurricane season. It must be incredibly hard to be in such a vulnerable area, wondering every summer and fall if you'll be slammed again.

    This a good site. You can probably learn all you need to know and if you don't find something, just ask. The members here are very helpful and generous in sharing their experience and advice.
