This doctor needs to be shut down!As if the Nadya Suleman "Octo-Mom" story couldn't get any more convoluted or weird, the LA Times is now reporting that her fertility doctor, Dr. Michael Kamrava, has another pat

ient expecting multiples. The Times reports that a 49-year old uninsured woman is pregnant with quadruplets and is on bed rest. She was recently transferred to County-USC from another hospital because she lacked insurance. The 49-year old woman is denying that Dr. Kamrava is her fertility doctor; however, the Times is citing several sources speaking on the condition of anonymity. The uninsured mom-to-be is currently on bed rest and will remain on bed rest for 2 to 3 more months until the babies are born. This new twist in the Nadya Suleman saga proves that this story will be grabbing headlines for months to come.
The LA Times article puts forth that that the 49-year old woman was implanted with 7 embryos, of which four survived. This woman's pregnancy risk is further increased due to her age. For those keeping score, Nadya Suleman has stated in interviews that Dr. Kamrava implanted her with 6 embryos, which resulted in the octuplets due to two of the embryos splitting into twins.Last edited by guest002; 02-12-2009 at 07:57 PM.

Isn't there a law stating that any fertility doctor is only allowed to implant a certain amount?
I'd revoke his medical license for the simple fact that not only did he implant that many in the first woman, but he did the same with someone who is beyond the age where you're realistically supposed to conceive before the child develops several disabilities.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

They should make him pay for the cost of bringing up all these babies instead of the public.

49 years old! I think he is some kind of Dr. Frankenstein who enjoys experimenting with human life. That, or he only accepts cash and does it for the money. UGH!

He needs to be more than shut down, he needs to be prosecuted if he has broken any laws.

unfortunately there are no LAWS preventing this and probably never will be coz then the 'gov't' is controlling our fertility....
there should be a 'code of ethics' among the medical profession and maybe after all this 'crap' they will finally instill one....
good grief!

The vast majority of cases of multiple birth are not the result of IVF... they are the result of fertility drugs causing the mother to create too many eggs at one time... a side effect that is rare and impossible to predict or control. There is a big difference in this happening and knowingly implanting multiple fertilized embryos. This "doctor" should have his medical license revoked IMMEDIATELY.
