Default Another local company goes under

I called Saturday to try to get DD in for a haircut at my favorite haircut spot. I called off and on for an hour or so. Thought it was odd that they weren't answering their phones on a Saturday.

Turns out... they went out of business.

    Sigh.

    Aww.

That reminds me, I need a haircut. The trouble is that the place I go to is about a ten minute walk from my house and in the winter time, I hate walking that far.

I find that finding a good hair stylist is like finding a good wine. It's hard to find just the right one that's suited to your tastes. I hope you find a new one soon.

Not surprising the way the economy is. I hate having to find a new place to go. Good luck in your hunt!

I actually hit the internet (after my unsuccessful phone calls) and found a great new place...

but it still shocked me that this place went under.

My husbands daughter has a shop and cut back her hours to just 3 days a week and let her help go. She does not know if she can hold out, people will just go without getting their hair done. Or stopping in the $10 shop, (midweek special) and grabbing a box of hair dye and doing it themselves. Or even stopping by the votech and getting a $6 cut. We bartered with her for haircuts, but I still feel just awful asking her to cut my hair knowing she is struggling.

It's sad but I think there will be more none chain shops going under

Wow! It's completely different here. I just had mine cut this weekend, and the local place was doing door-buster business. I know a lot of people go on weekends, so I went out at 10 am and got the last un-booked slot they had for the day. In the hour I was there they turned away at least 8 people, and the girl doing my hair said they were usually busier than that!
