I absolutely can not take this ANYMORE....
the pain is HORRIBLE!!!! I hurt my back at the gym Monday night and haven't been able to hardly move for 2 days now
I am miserable. It hurts to walk...sit...sneeze heck it hurts to breathe. I have been sitting on the heating pad and taking ibuprofen but I am still in so much pain. Hey I know no pain no gain but come on! I tried side crunches...bad idea! Thanks for letting me whine

Ugh! Try to rest up and hopefully it is just a pulled muscle that will heal quickly! I always try to take it "easy" at the gym, but my Dh always goes hog wild on the weights and I'm always so afriad he is going to hurt himself!
Rest up!

Have you tried a chriopracter; my husband has been going for years and it really helps. My son has a new job lifting heavy items and he's also going. Insurance usually covers the xrays and the visit is pretty inexpensive compared to regular doctors

I'm not a medical professional but my understanding is you should alternate ice and heat. Rest and heal. My I suggest you see your Doctor if it doesn't get better very soon.

Alternate ice and heat. Try to find a way that is comfy and don't move! Hopefully it will heal quickly ... if not...see your doctor! I hope it gets better soon!

Yes, after 24hrs, the heating pad is keeping the inflammation going. You need to switch to ice. Also stretching and trying not to walk hunched over. Don't stay sitting (but don't try to work out either!). Google the "superman", it's an exercise that works your back muscles...you basically lay on your stomach with your arms straight out and slowly lift your arms & legs up off the floor 4-6" and hold for 10 seconds. It really does strengthen your back with minimal effort. But don't do this until your back is all better.
I've hurt my back numerous times and have had physical therapy and these are what my physical therapist tell me to do every time.

You need to get your fanny to the doctor. Even if its pulled muscles you need to know what you are dealing with. You need x-rays and to be checked, you may have herniated a disc! That puts pressure on nerves and causes awful pain, I know I did it to my neck. With the pain not getting any better you really need to see the doctor! Please don't let it go, get to the doctor and get some help so you KNOW what is causing the pain.

Yes, you should really go see if it's a herniated disc.

Well the more I've been up and moving I am feeling a bit better. The ice is also helping I think. I have a bad backto begin with...car accident in 2002
so I really think its my usual back going out pain
but if it persists I will have to go get a muscle relaxer. Thanks all!
