well i 'finally' completed that 'stupid' project...
well what's that project that you have been putting off and putting off and you finally jumped in and tackled or finished it...(after a very long time of procrastination)....doesn't matter how big or small....just something that you should have just done a lonngg time ago......

We did a couple last weekend.
I've been meaning for ten years to take the small aluminum drawer I salvaged from an old fridge out from under the sink where it was holding various bottles of cleaner and was too small for the task. I wanted it with its twin in our side by side fridge (freezer side) to organize stuff in there, where I knew it would fit perfectly.
I wanted to install a wire drawer I had had for several years but which did not fit under the kitchen sink due to the drains at the back of the cabinet. It also didn't fit a single cabinet in the entire house.
I decided I was going to make the damn thing work anyway, so we cut the end out of the wire basket and re-attached it with cable ties, making the drawer shorter so it would fit under the sink.
Then I cleaned up the aluminum drawer and put it to work in the fridge-freezer.
I also moved a shelf by our back door so I could put a big plastic re-cycled fridge drawer between it and the one above it, for storing mittens and hats. Been meaning to do that for ages, too.
Got the doors put on the cabinets over the washer and dryer. That only took ten years.
Got the back porch remodel almost completely done last fall. That only took four years or so.
Moved the bottom shelf in the bathroom up a couple inches, so the big tote full of rugs could fit under it instead of in the way in front of the shelf. The new shelf is wider so holds blankets better. Been trying to make myself do that for about three years or so. Now I suppose it'll take another three years to add the extra shelf I want in that area. Ugh.
It looks so pathetic, put into black and white like this.Last edited by Spirit Deer; 02-21-2009 at 05:55 PM.

look on the bright side though....the thread was "what have you DONE"...not "what do you still need to do"....

I learned how to use my sewing machine last week. I have had it for awhile and never used it till last week.

I have a wonderful wood sewing chest I bought at a garage sale 2 years ago. The top had one side that needed to be re-glued. It was in the box, just needed to be glued.
Yep, I finally glued it!!! Why do I put this stuff off so long?

Okay, one more off my list.
This is funny, it took about 2 minutes to complete and 20 minutes searching my house for the pieces.
My faucet in the bathroom was missing a handle when we moved in four years ago. My neighbor gave me one of his when he replace his faucet about two years ago. I've had both handles in different places in my house, but not put on the sink. Today, I found them and screwed them in. It's done...took two years to complete the two minute job...

I am always amazed that those projects that I put off doing, no matter for how long, always (and I mean always) takes much less time than I think it will.
Mahalo for all of your inspiration - I am soooo inspired that I am going to go through that box of paperwork that has been staring at me for far too long and at least organize it by category.
Project on.....Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I cleaned off my desk!
I moved in about 18 months ago...and then the desk got messy...and somehow....well it nearly needed an excavator..but on Monday I finally got it done.
I put away my Christmas decorations..yep nearly St. Patty's day....but my shrubs no longer lurk beneath wires.
