    Talking Greetings from Oklahoma!

    Hello from NE Oklahoma! I'm obviously new here and still finding my way around. I'm a recovering "shopaholic" who has dug our family into a deep financial hole, but am now anxious and ready to embrace a frugal lifestyle and become debt free. I'm looking forward to lots of tips and pointers from all of you! I plan to get Dave Ramsey's book in the next few days, but in the mean time, I've been reading lots of posts and threads to get started.


    How did you hear about frugal village? I followed a link to this site from another site on couponing/frugal living.

    What interests you here? Getting out of debt, building up our savings, and learning from others. I also am really impressed with the friendship and support you offer.

    What will you contribute? Any support and friendship others may need, and hopefully some insight and wisdom to other "newbies" down the line.

    Do you know any other members here? Not yet.

    How many kids? Ages? 2 daughters (almost 25 and 30), both married, one grandson (4)

    Tell us about yourself. I'm a retired RN due to MS and other health conditions. I've been married to my dh for almost 16 years (next month), live on a small farm and wildlife habitat, raise AKC Brussels Griffons, love all critters, and refuse to ever completely grow up - I love to play!

    Do you own any pets? lol! Hope you're sitting down for this one - we have 14 dogs (ranging from 5 pounds to well over 100 pounds), 8 cats, 10 pygmy goats, 1 cockatiel, and 1 guinea. I also feed an assortment of various wildlife - raccoons, deer, opossums, birds, and who knows what else!?

    Occupation? I put myself through nursing school as a single parent. After 5 years of working, I was diagnosed with MS (the same year I met dh), and 2 years after that had to retire.

    Married or single? Married for 16 wonderful years to my best friend! He has stood by me through so many things.

    Interests and hobbies? Raising and training dogs, anything related to the outdoors, genealogy, and machine embroidery are at the top of the list. Too many others to mention.

    I'm really looking forward to getting to know you, and learning all the lessons you have to share!
