I was wanting to plant a nice garden this year. But we really have a issue with ferrel cats around my niebor sems to feed and the cats and they all hang at her house and you can smell it reall bad. Well i know last year they went in my old rose bush and made a potty pot in there. so i was thinking of making a fence, nothing fancy, im hopeing we have some old post in the barn and i would need some tall chicken wire. But any one have pictures or anyother ideas.. Thanks Tina

i have split rail fence around my garden area and then i attached chicken wire on the inside (up to the bottom of the 2nd rail and dug the other end slightly into the ground to keep the bunnies out....)

it worked good last yr... now the garden itself was another story...lol

I have a fence around my garden. It is made of the green pound-in stakes and the square fencing material. I wanted something I could move easily according to my needs. I put it up because the dogs were running through my garden.

We put up a white picket fence around our garden to keep the dogs out and also keep the bunnies out (that is the real problem). I have chicken wire stapled to the bottom of the fence and buried down about 2 inches, and it works like a charm!

Here is a picture, you can see part of the fence behind the outhouse...

We have a chain link fence around our yard, we separated the garden part w/ square garden fencing & green stakes like mzpepper. It works great. We have alot of cats in our neighborhood too. My little dog keeps them run off.

Our fence is 50" high, panels 16', with metal stakes. It's to keep out dogs as well as for something sturdy for vining plants to climb on. It looks fine just as is, adn I can't wait to see peas, tomatoes, etc. climbing on it.

I have a fence around my garden. We just used regular old green t-posts from the hardware store and square wire fencing. Our garden measures roughly 20 x 20 and I believe everything for the fencing and the gate costs us around $40. We put is up mainly for the neighborhood dogs and cats that run around, they seem to cause more a problem then the wild critters that come up.

You can see our fencing here. http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/...pictureid=1114

The bonus thing I have found out about using this type of fencing, it allows plenty of sunlight to still reach your goodies, and it works great for the veggies that need to vine. Our cucumbers last year just vined all over the fence and grew wonderfully that way.

We are planting a gardent this year and will need to put a fence in. I am thinking of something like what Texaspeanut has. We have deer, mice, rabbits, raccoons, minx, weasels so we need something up. Plus my darling cats will use it as a litter box if they can get in.
