Newest Member of our Family
His name is Diesel. The vet figures he is about a year old. The SPCA found him behind a gas station. He was covered with diesel fuel and it was -40 out so he was frozen to the ground too. The vet thought he would lose his feet, ears and tail due to frostbite, but he only lost half of his tail, half of one ear and the tip of the other ear. He lost all his fur but it is starting to grow back in now. He is very timid but once he starts cuddling he doesn't stop.
I can't believe people do things like this to animals. I mean I know they do I worked at an SPCA and saw all kinds of abuses but I just have such a hard time with it.
Anyways my kids saw all the kittens when we were there and they were so upset that someone could hurt an animal. They inisisted we get him because he needed someoone to give him lots of love.

Awww, your story brought tears to my eyes. I am glad to took him home and are giving him lots of love. I DETEST people who are mean to animals. They should be shot in my opinion. I love his name too. Give him an extra hug and kiss for me.

You reminded me of a story about my mom, who also detested animal abusers.
We had a lovely old cat and once some kids walked by and tried to grab him. Not in a nice way, but in a 'I plan to do something awful to you' way.
Mom happened to be looking out the window and, without saying a word, went and got the shotgun from the closet. She strolled out onto the porch with it cradled in her arms.
One of the kids saw her and asked "Whatcha' doing with the shotgun, lady?"
She replied, "I'm planning on using it to protect my property, which is completely legal."
They scattered to the four winds.
She was in her 70s, and was the sweetest looking woman you could come across, but it was obvious she meant business.
Anyway, congrats on the cat. he's a looker.

He's adorable and I'm so glad he has a good home now
Both our cats are stray cats and we love them like our children. I protect them just like I would my children, I have a hard time understanding how anyone could harm an animal.

Beautiful!
This is our stray we found behind the Dillons in Wichita back in 1995. It was December and it was only 23 degrees out. He was out back by the pond rolling around on the ground with the Geese. My husband heard him meowing and put him in his coat. He showed up at the car (he had told me to get in and he would be right back) opened his coat and this is what he had.

I have a cat from the SPCA and I had a dog from there until she passed last year. I still cant believe what people do to animals. Mine get treated like family. You have great kids wanting to care for a *not so perfect* pet. He is very pretty and Im betting will make a wonderful addition to your family.

He's beautiful! Poor baby, it makes me so upset to hear about people being cruel to animals. He's lucky to be in a loving family now. Congrats!

What a gorgeous cat! I love cats but I can't have any animals with my oldest being allergic.

I really, really, really, really hate animal abusers. You'd think the gas station people would have taken the cat in out of the cold. Some people are just mean.
