I Need a Kick in the Butt...
...because whenever Tim Horton's Roll Up the Rim comes back in February (i.e., right now) I get a great urge to buy coffees every day. I haven't yet bought one since the contest started, but I really want to this evening while I'm running errands. Why is it that I want Timmies coffees?...because they taste good and the extra bonus of a chance to win.
I'm really trying to cut back on buying Timmies coffees, as you can see in my signature, and I need some encouragement and wisdom as to why not to buy them. The Timmies-urge really increases at the Roll Up the Rim time. AHHHH!An obstacle is what comes up when you lose sight of your goal.

Quiltin' Mama - I've heard people RAVE about Tim Horton's. I've not tried as we don't have them where I live. However, what is "Roll Up the Rim"??
I dunno, for great caffeine and a chance to win, I'd probably succumb!

I'm a Timmies fan, too. Whenever I go grocery shopping, I would stop in and have a cup of coffee. I told myself that I deserved it for walking out to the grocery store. But after I had my coffee I felt guilty because I have good coffee at home. So, now I walk by the Timmies and eye it suspiciously, like it's going to reach out and drag me in. ha!
How about paying yourself for every Timmies coffee that calls to you during the contest that you DON'T drink? Then, at the end of the contest, you can buy yourself a reward?
Also remind yourself that most of the winners are for donuts and coffees, not really good prizes. There are better prizes in other stores....like a bouquet of flowers, a bag of gourmet coffee grounds, or a box of sugar-free cookies
Good luck!

I don't drink coffee but I do get the odd tea at Timmies. The only thing I have ever won during roll up the rim is a free coffee

Here's a link to show you what Roll Up the Rim is. http://www.rolluptherimtowin.com/en/index.php Looks pretty exciting and alluring, eh? I'm going to do up absolute best not to buy one. If Roll Up the Rim wasn't on, the desire wouldn't be as great. Their marketing really works!

Be pro-active. Get GREAT coffee and keep it at home. Sure at X per pound gourmet coffee is expensive, but how many cups does that pound of coffee make? So how much per cup?
Or you could look for the cups with the rims still unrolled in parking lots and see if you can win a free one!

Try making your own special flavored coffees at home and put them in a special travel mug. Take that with you when you're going to be near a Timmie's. It should help kill the urge if you already have a tasty coffee in your hand.

Quiltin' Mama! Good news for you if you do splurge! Even if the cup isn't a winner you can take it to Country Style and they'll give you a free medium coffee!
It's like a BOGO deal - either way... you either win on your rim or you win by getting the free coffee at Country Style.
Found out about that at Red Flag Deals online.

i love being canadian, i love how we're all addicted to Timmies and he's a part of the family..my kids would see a tim hortons, (when they were very little, under 2) and freak for donuts...the golden arches had nothing on them...
i dont even drink coffee..but i love their donuts,(evile) and hotchocolat...
and hey who can resist a roll up the rim...they even sell rim roller upppers at the gas station..lol...
I hear they are branching out to the states now..
see i'd convince myself that a higher power is telling you to go get one...cause you'll win the van.....that's how it works with me..i can justify anything...
