organic foods question
i dont want this to be a rant or a pro/con of organic foods... i want to ask if it's difficult to find organic foods in your community markets.
i can definitely go on for days about the price of it... and whether or not it's good for one to eat it or not eat it... whatever.
i'm having real trouble finding a wide range of foods. what about you?
very few markets near me have organic meats.
most tend to have organic eggs, lettuce, spinach, carrots, bananas & sometimes i can find oranges. and that's really about it.
what about the rest of the produce? even dairy?
Tell me about your neighbourhood markets... I'd like to know if it's regional or if it's everywhere the lack of organics available.
thanks

I have no problem finding organic foods. It might be because of where I live, as California is such a huge agricultural area AND a large part of its population is very health-conscious.
Most of the major grocery stores here have large organic sections (that have gotten bigger each year), and there are several Trader Joes' and Whole Foods to go to, as well. Every summer, we have numerous farmers' markets (I think I have one within easy driving distance at least 3-4x/week) and many of those vendors sell organic.
About the only thing I had ever had some trouble with was Half-and-Half, and then only because I didn't want ultra-pasteurized.DH aka Mad Hen

I always forget about the Trader Joe's... it's really expensive though... the prices of organics there sometimes double what you'll find at a regular supermarket... but thanks for the reminder. I'll check them out again

I live in West Michigan...
and I have no trouble finding organic. As a matter of fact, the farmer I get my meat from delivered my order to me at no charge AND threw in 3 extra soup bones and a dozen eggs as well as I got (and always do a HUGE thank you). In the summer, the market has and is getting MANY organic farmers and they are NOT that expensive. During the winter, I get most of my food from the health food store as I have found they are much cheaper than the big box store. Take care and God bless.

The only vegtable/meat here I have seen in the stores is bananas. I have never seen anything else in the stores marked organic. I am going to be checking this year for local farmer's markets since I am new to the area and love farmer's markets. My DH didn't think about it before I mentioned it.
