    Default Local Economic Stimulus Plan

So yesterday our local paper ran an article regarding a local stimulus package they are offering. If you buy a car from the Lancaster Auto Mall in Lancaster,Ca the city will give a gift card as a refund on registration fees. Now I live in Palmdale but purchased my last car in Lancaster. Its 15 minutes from here.

Last night I got a recorded message from our mayor saying Palmdale is offering a $300 gift card to the mall when you buy a car at the Palmdale Auto Mall and the city will be offering other incentives when you shop locally.

Nothing specifically like that...but, in Michigan if you can't find a some sort of deal when buying a car you aren't trying very hard. One of the bigger dealer's is having a 50% off sale on the price & payment...but, I'd bet my house that they raise their prices before they cut the deal.

They have actually lowered prices too here. We went Monday JUST looking and they had a $62,000 Chevy SUburban marked down to $39,500. They tried REALLY hard to sell us a used 2008 Tahoe Denali for $16,000 if I could afford another payment I promise hubby would have it in the driveway now! They are all having big sales right now. LOL Dh said this just shows the profit they make if they are lowering prices THAT much!

I haven't really seen it. But I am noticing more and more ads for vehicles under 10K and promoting fuel economy.

I haven't heard of any deals like that. Though I caught myself laughing listening to the dealer ad this morning when I went to the grocery store. They dropped prices on some SUV thing $6000, and if you come in this weekend they will put in a dropdown DVD player thingy. What got me laughing was the line about how now is the time to come in and buy the new car you "deserve". I think I will deserve it next year when I have saved enough to pay cash for my new to me car instead of buying a car now on credit that drops in value as soon as I leave the lot.

I heard that its also harder get a loan to buy a car now. so they might have cheaper prices but. If you have any red flags on your credit. Then forget it.
