Default Whatcha gonna do with the change jar?S/O

Spin off of a thread for a woman's super secret savings account.

A lot of us have change jars. What are your particular plans for yours? I have no idea what I'm going to do with mine.

The last time we spent our change we bought a dryer with it. Not sure what we will do with it this time.

I still have my change jar, but have had to use some of it a couple of times. Like just before payday, and needing to go to the laundramat. I plan to keep adding to it, and being thankful it is there when I need it.

I am using my change jar monies when my husband and I go to Las Vegas for his class reunion in October....consider it free money!!

We are saving our change for a day a way. We plan to save our change to go to King's Island. Right now, we have a little over $100. If we continue to put in it like we have, we will have well over $400 by the time the trip rolls around, then we can put some extra money in there and have a pretty nice day or two at the park.

Each year I usually end up with around $500 and I use it for a couple of nights in a suite at my favorite hotel.

I have no idea what I am going to do with the change jar. I keep saying I am going to do something big with it, but then I use it for things like bar fare etc.

We usually use ours for our spending money when we go camping, including covering camping fees. If we don't go camping this year, or don't use it all, the balance goes towards Christmas for the kiddos.

I cant keep DH out of my change jar! I have to hide it. The only one he doesn't bother is my penny jar! But the silver jar he raids all the time in the summer or when he goes to visit his cousin he takes a few bucks for McDonalds! UGH!
I don't think I'm gonna get rich on pennies but I'm starting to think I need to take my silver and go to the bank every week with it so he can't touch it! (hmm, that thought just came to me and it doesn't sound like a bad one! I could put in right into my savings and watch it grow!)

My change jar has kinda' tanked, but for a good reason.

Originally, I challenged myself to only put in it what my DH ignored in his pockets. That used to mean a pretty good amount when I cleaned pockets or the top of the dresser or washer. I don't know if he was embarrassed to use 4 quarters instead of a dollar bill or what.

However, FV has influenced him as well, even if second-hand. Very little change has found its way into the change jar lately, because he's actually started treating it as MONEY and worthy of respect.

    I'll take the trade-off.
