water bill
OMG I almost passed out. We are potty training the almost 3 year old foster son and he is doing great. Goes pee all the time.. literally all the time. Dh just told me our water bill is $40 higher this month because of the additional sewer charge of 3 year old flushing all the time. Of course his almost 2 year old brother watches him flush and has to instantly reflush. I have started a new rule no more flushing the toilet. Mommy will come along and flush from time to time. Told the 4 year old foster daughter not to flush anymore she looked at me like I was insane..lol
I know its gross to tell them this but I am not going to literally have money flushed down the toilet.

We don't have low flow toilets so I will let the one in the master bath "mellow" before flushing.

Have any of you tried putting a few bricks in the back of the stool? It reduces the amount of water in the tank, and reduces the amount of water per flush.
(I used to do that before we moved, but the new house has the low water toilets)
My boys just never seem to flush unless I remind them.

don't use bricks!!!! they can desenigrate over time and if they break apart they will cause damage to your toilet and pipes....we have had that happen with a few toilets.... better....fill a waterbottle or small jug with water and put in tank....

If its yellow, let it mellow...If its brown flush it down!
It's a common phrase in island countries like the Virgin Islands and Bermuda. Some islands have little to no fresh water in the form of lakes and rivers. If you flush EVERYTIME you use the facilities, then you might not have water to drink when you need it.
In Bermuda, rainwater is the only source of drinking water because the island literally pushed its way up from the ocean due to volcanic activity. The homes all have white limed roofs which are connected to cisterns under the houses to provide water for the household. While on vacation a few years ago, our resort ran out of water and had to call a water company to fill up their storage tanks.

Hey it's not gross! If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down. We dont flush after each pee, nothing wrong with that.
