How devastating for all involved. I teach 3 YOs, so your news brings it close to home. Prayers and love to all of you. I believe in miracles. God bless.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I will add my prayers that it goes into remission. My daughters best friend from grade school little brother had it and he went to the City of Hope for treatment. It did go into remission and he is ready to graduate from college. Hope your friend has such a good turn. Everyone this is also such a reason to add yourself and be on the Bone Marrow Donor site, in case someone needs a match.

I have heard that recent childhood leukemia has a wonderful remission rate -- over 90%. Much different than when we were kids.

I just got of the phone with her.... it was long and very upsetting. I am going to go and take her out for lunch tomorrow, she is in town alone right now because her husband is back home with her two older children.
I went through the same thing with two other friends. Both children are still alive. One is in total remission and it has never recurred but my other friend's son has had it three times! He has had a bone marrow transplant. And he is 14. But he is still here and enjoying life. A walking miracle!
But far too recently last May..... just before mothers day a very dear little girl we knew died of liver cancer she was 13. I am still not fully over it, never mind her family...
But the treatments are so awful and the tests! And the financila strain on the families.... it is awful, just awful...
I amnot looking forward to tomorrow, but I need to go. I won't sleep well tonight....

How awful. Please let your friend know that so many people on FV will be praying/sending their love and concern your way.

We just got home from the hospital with Maggie- our 3 year old who has cancer - I personally know the pain your friend is in.
One of the best things you could offer her as she is alone is to stay with your friends little girl. It is so hard to leave your child, but sitting there is not easy either. Give her that break to go for a walk, go window shopping or whatever it might take to feel normal - even for a few minutes.
