the village king/queen for the day....
how about we have a village king/queen for the day based on who got/did the 'most-bestest' frugaling of the day....
post why you think you should be the king/queen...what qualifies you...
it has to be something super-duper... WOW....
like: i found $20 on the road and put it in my gas tank
i got 35 cans of green beans for .3 cents each
my utility bill is 1/10 of what it was last year....
i walked 45 miles in 5 ft of snow to the grocery to save gas
NO:
i didn't turn the heat on.....
we ate leftovers for dinner.....
i didn't flush the toilet all day.....
(nothing that is already a 'given').....
come on and inspire us all and make us say ohhh... & ahhhh......

hey..i was already called the 'idiot' earlier on...we ALL can't be the idiot...SOMEBODY has to step up and 'lead' this place.....
okay... I'LL do it......
i should be the queen today coz:
a few months ago i dropped my blush compact on the floor and all the blush inside broke up...well not to worry...i just kept on using it... then later yet i accidently broke the lid on it and now it has spilled all over the drawer...do you think i wiped it up and threw the whole mess away... ?? well heck no...there's some good stuff there.... so when i decide that the world is running scared enough right now and shouldn't have the added stress of seeing me 'without my make-up' ... i just use the bottom of the drawer as a 'giant compact' and run my blush brush threw the mess and throw it on my face....

I don't know if others consider this over and beyond but for me it is:
I think that I should be voted
QUEEN cuz:
My rubber boots are 6 years old and they started to crack and my feet were getting wet so instead of tossing them, I found the stuff that you fix garden hoses with and squirted it on the cracks. They are not so pretty but I think that will save me the cost of another pair of boots for another little while yet. I wonder how many times I can do this?

I think Sara & Gabe should be king and queen for the day, don't you?
They've worked to make forums are faster today and they are.
This is a free site.
They keep it nice even though that can be diffucult at times.
They themselves have to live frugally everyday.
Where would we all be if not for fv?
I vote for them!!

OK here's mine. One day last summer I parked at a store. As I was exiting my car I saw an envelope (actually, I stepped on it). I picked it up and looked inside and there was $1400 in it. Being the moral person I am I took it inside the store and they put my name and address on it in case noone claimed it. Next morning I get a call from the owner of the $. She was elderly and had been frantic to find it. She gave me $10 for finding it, so I treated myself to lunch.
Does this count since it happened last summer?
