    Default toilet lids.....up or down....

so...do you keep your toilet lids..up or down....

i personally can't stand to have mine in the 'up' position...i think it makes the bathroom look cleaner & tidier when it is down....
plus i have had this life-long fear of waking up and finding one of my pets 'drowned' in it during the night....(hey...we all have our 'issues') lol.....

Definately down if you have pets. I really don't think they'd drown, unless it was a pet flying squirrel , but too many animals think it's a drinking bowl.

Down - from the time I flush. I read or heard somewhere that germs fly out when you flush.

Down, but I live alone so however I put it stays. No spats here at all over the seat.

We never put our lid down unless someone is using it as a chair, while the kids are in the bath or something. Otherwise, it pretty much only goes down while I am cleaning the toilet.

I have heard that water sprays out when you flush, so down is best...especailly if your toothbrushes sit close by!

    DOWN!

I just wish the rest of my family shared this philosophy. I guess I should just be grateful I have the males in the family trained to put the seat back down when they are done lol.

Dw and I battled over this when we were first married. Then, one of our cats decided to jump in. After washing the cat, I have never left the lid up again.

I prefer it to be down....but with 7 males in my household, I think that I'm going to have to install a recorded message in the bathrooms that say "close the lid when you're done" everytime they use the toilet.lol

I taught my son to close it after using, so now the lid is broken from him slamming it shut so many times. Should have just let him leave it up.

    Down, defiantely down.

I have a Greyhound that thinks these are his personal water fountains, so they all stay down. Did I say down, already?

    Default Down!

Oh goodness, I thought I was the only one who hat this pet peeve. My daughter had a boyfriend for 9 months who constantly left it up (mom was the only girl in his family and she did not mind I guess). In my whole life I have never know anyone who keeps it up. I guess it runs in the family cuz I dont know anybody who leaves it up. It just bothered me so much and which got me more mad is my daughter has her own bathroom and her friends always use mine-another pet peeve. I clean my toilet daily and it is never visually dirty but it just feels dirty having it up. Good to know I am not alone on this one.

DOWN!!! It makes the bathroom look cleaner and it makes it easier for Wesley to go to the bathroom if he doesn't have to worry about the lid and all that.
