How in the world could I forget?!
I went to call my mother this morning and omg, I totally forgot she was having surgery today!

She's having the shoulder repaired that she injured when she had her bicycle accident about six years ago. I even talked to her just yesterday and totally forgot she was having the surgery today...
Doh!Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Momto2boys - Have to tell you my first reaction to your message was that you must have a strong independent mom. Speaking as an older mom (63) - you talked with your mom yesterday - even talked about her surgery - perfect timing. today - surgery day - she's being taken care of by the professionals. After surgery - you'll talk with her again - either in person or by phone to give the love and support that only her daughter can give.
Please don't be hard on yourself. If I did this with my MIL - we would laugh about it. If/when this happens with my daughter, I'll tease her about it and then we'll laugh.
Hope this gives you a different perspective.
Please let me know how her surgery goes - I selfishly want to know since I need surgery on my shoulder and would love to hear about her recovery!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Oh I will. Thanks.

I had the surgery myself, twice in fact...once in 2000 and again in 2001. She's a pretty resilient woman and I was actually the one who coaxed her into getting the surgery done. I just don't like her doctor.

So you had a brain spasm this morning. It will be fine. She was unconscious anyway. At least you remembered before she came home from the hospital and you asked her where she had been!
