It Feels Like Home
Hi everyone. Warmest greetings from Michigan.
I found this site while browsing back in December. I remember how surprised I was to find so many like minded people. So many, many hours have been spent reading posts, learning from the community, identifying with and relating to everyone that I felt as if I had come home.
The more I lurked, the more I realized that what I had been practicing all my life was entry level compared to world class level of the regulars of the village. I got insecure and thought that I can only learn from you all without being a contributor to the community. Taking is good. Giving back is better.
A couple months ago DH was let go from his job. Not a surprise. The company is an automotive supplier in bankruptcy for the second time. Countless hours were spent talking about our new situation and how best to move foreward. DH has spent so many hours on the pc taking care of business that I've not had many opportunities to come visit. I joined last week. Life happened and I've not been able to come back until now.
So here I am. I've read so many hundreds of posts that you're family to me by now.
I'm old enough to remember when Mother Earth News was the publication I waited for each month, along with Alfred E. Newman. Although I fight it hard, my tendency is toward seeing the glass half empty. I've been buying extra and putting it in my "stash" for so long that it's a proper stockpile now. All in the name of "just in case." When "just in case" moved in seven weeks ago I felt vindicated and immense relief. I only need to buy perishables. It is good not to panic over the choice of eating or paying your bills.
The sun is shinig now. I feel happy. Before I can talk myself out of it, I'll take my dog for a nice long walk. Later I'll be joining you again. Maybe by then I'll have figured out how to work spell check, insert icons and understand what tags are.
Must-Stash has left the building.

Welcome! I doubt you're as "entry level" as you think, and will have plenty to share with us.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Greebo, how could you have possibly known?
OK Greebo, just want you to know I got to follow your directive.
Harlley, my lab, enjoyed the walk I took him on yesterday. Guess he too had spring fever. The horse poop in the pasture is thawed now. He took full advantage and rolled in it to his hearts content. Insisted on coming up to me to share his perfume. When he wears it, he wears it proudly and is happy to give out samples.
In short, I got to wash the dog and wash the dog and wash the dog.
