Im in the hospital

Well im in the hospital. Nothing to eat or drink for at least 5 days. I have pancretitis. My blood levels are high. At least i can use my lap top, I have had to shots of demeral through Iv. So keep me in prayers..

I'm sorry to hear that, Nana! Thank goodness you can have your laptop & aren't completely cut off from the outside world! My prayers are with you.

I have been there, done that and got the t-shirt. I spent a week in the hospital in 2004 with it. My heart goes out to you. I know exactly what are and will be going through.

I had two IVs going at all times, one in each arm. After a few days I had a port put in my neck since the IVs were blowing my veins out. It was so much better than getting new IVs put in a couple of times a day. It was also a relief not having to have blood drawn from arms every four hours. With the port in place I got all of my fluids and meds through it. Plus, every time they needed blood they just took it from the port in my neck. It made all of the difference form me.

The most uncomfortable part for me (aside from the pain factor) was my thirst. After a couple of days I was dying for a drink of water. I finally snuck and sipped water from the bathroom sink because I was so desperate for moisture in my mouth. I was thankful for the pain meds, though. Morphine became my BFF while I was in the hospital. My doctor was wonderful about making sure I was in as little pain as possible.

Nana, sorry to hear you are in the hospital but at least they found the problem and now you can have someone wait on you while you get some rest and get healthy. Sending you hugs and prayers.
