Sleep is important!!
I am really glad that this week is over. Because of pain I was not able to sleep for almost three days. I bottomed out physically and emotionally.....and now I am on the mend.
Wanted all of you to know how much it helped me to log on and read your messages thoughout the hours. At that time I couldn't figure out how to post a new thread or I would have - to ask for support. But you were all there anyway - supporting others when needed (and I absorbed some of that for me too!!), coming up with great ideas and sharing your lives in general. Mahalo.
Also wanted to remind all of us how important sleep is to all aspects of our lives. Please make sure to get as much as you need. I joke sometimes that I need a 12 hr. sleep once a week!!..no joke anymore.
Take care of yourselves - you may never know how important you are to others.Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I definitely agree on the sleep. Nothing will make the world look blacker quicker than just being too tired to cope. And nothing is worse than not being to sleep because of pain. The worst of both worlds - unable to do anything while you can't sleep, and unable to sleep to escape the pain.
I sam glad you are over this and hope it doesn't happen often. At least there will always be company here at FV.Donna

Oh wow, how well I understand what you mean! You don't even think about how important sleep is until you go without, and when its from pain you really are glad to see those days behind you. I hope your feeling better soon and can get some much needed rest and sleep!

I was just diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and am going through the process of getting used to a CPAP machine and mask. It's a process but I am already amazed at how BAD I used to feel I didn't realize how bad it was until now. I'm glad you're doing better and I look forward to "seeing" you around the board!

Frugalbabe - mahalo for your words.
Am soooooo glad you got diagnosed because your life will get so much better. I nagged the husband for 24 years before he went in to be tested - he now loves being able to sleep!! Won't go on any trip without it eitherr!!
Slept for 8 hours last night - bliss!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Welcome to the village. So glad you're doing better. I often have the same problem due to pain and fully understand your burnout. Hope to be reading your posts soon.

A few days after having DD2, I wasn't getting enough sleep and went into a "crazy state". Everything around me made me anxious and overwhelmed. I thought my life was never going to go 'back to normal'. Then I went to my parents house and my parents watched the kids while I slept and mom encouraged me to get out of the house have confidence that things were OK. I know exactly what you mean about sleep being important. It can really affect how you look on life.

I have had to handraise day-old baby birds, and once I had a baby cockatiel who required feedings round the clock, at about 15-30 minute intervals, for almost a week. I actually got to the point where the tiny sound of her squeak would wake me up and send me stumbling into the kitchen to prepare her meal. For about four days, I didn't get more than a 10-minute nap. I remember actually starting to hallucinate near the end of that time. The first time I was able to sleep for a full hour, which was about five days into it, it felt like I had died and gone to heaven!!

Just a word for those on a CPAP. If you have real problems adjusting to the constant pressure talk to your doctor about trying a Bi-pap!
Instead of the SAME constant pressure you get one pressure inhaling, and a different pressure when you exhale....it makes the adjustment better. You can also get them with a humidifer on it so it warms and puts moisture in the air, that also helps if the cold air bugs you.
Sure makes a difference when you get to sleeping better, and those machines are true life savers! My husband has been on one for 3 years now. And what a difference it has made in his sleeping. You don't think about all that happens when you don't sleep well, but it does make a HUGE difference.
I went last thursday for an over night sleep study, I should be hearing any day now on mine. They really are worth the trouble, and really can save you from having other problems. They really are life saving!
