Default my dh has finally learned to 'sit' & 'stay'....

this is almost as good as the day when you tell your dog to 'sit' and 'stay' he finally does........woohoo

dh has got it ! its been a long hard 'whiney' road with him but he has finally come to the 'other side'.....

yesterday his boss asked him to go to arizona for a week of golf (they have a free house and they need to drive a car back that is already there)...so it would be 1-way airfare from indiana and then all the rounds of golf...(which CAN be very expensive...) and since it's the boss's idea...a week of pay (not counted towards vaca time)...win/win/win...(boss would probably pay for alot of the golf too).....

dh responded with 7 words that i never thought i would EVER hear come out of his mouth....(even his boss was shocked...)....he said: "I don't think i can afford it"....

now to understand the scenario completely...that fact is that he COULD afford to go if he wanted...we are not destitute (yet anyway...)...but we have this huge debt load of credit cards that we agreed upon to finally knock out asap and be done with them forever....it would take money away from that goal and set us back a little farther...(not terribly farther...but that wasn't part of the original plan...)....so to hear him talk like that was simply amazing....

after i picked myself up off the floor...of course i told him he could go...i don't know if he will or not...but he gets an A+ for his positive attitude towards trying to reach this goal... and all the sacrifices he (we) are making...

and i think it helped getting the utility bill yesterday and knowing that those around us are avg'ing $450 (due to the unusually cold weather) and ours was $248.... our suffering has paid off !

i think my DH deserves a bisquit !!!!

Yippie!!! My hubby has his moments but if it comes to something to do with the semi's then poof the money is gone ... i just wanna cry! But we have been working on the electric bill because the last two months it has been over 400 dollars with the last one being 469.. yikes!!! Well I opened this months bill and yesss it was 333 dollars! I think mostly because we haven't had to plug in two semi trucks over night because the weather is getting a tad better! But I hope to start hanging cloths out to dry soon and that will help alot too.... sigh ... there for awhile we had no furnance and only used portable heaters.. our electric bill was sooo awesome under 200 .... so striving to work on making it better.

I think if he does stay home, he deserves a steak dinner

    no, no, no..........
he needs a steak dinner made at home if he does not go on that trip......
you need to reward him for good behavior.......

I agree. Passing up golf and a warm week of paid vacation in Arizona would definitely earn steak. Maybe not the most expensive cut, but steak.

Edited to add: if it would make you feel better, you could cook him a steak and you could eat tuna helper!

well i don't think we will have to worry about what dh gets for dinner coz i imagine he WILL be eating steak...only it will be on the 19th hole of the golf course....me....i'll be at home eating a can of pringles.....(oh and of course 24/7 of FV) but...everyone will be happy....

i will place my bet on dh getting to go...especially since i gave my blessing....after all...it was the THOUGHT that counted...right????

one way or another...dh will get his steak...............
