Default I went to a salvage store today

I decided to go check out one of those salvage stores today and see what they are all about. I went to one of the ones listed on this site but when I got there it was boarded up and the door padlocked. Funny thing though, on our way there we passed a place called Hallmark Discount Warehouse (public welcome). Curious to what it was we went on in and low and behold it was a salvage store. This one took all the salvage from Costco stores. I couldn't believe my eyes with all the discounts. It wasn't all dented cans and crushed boxes either. There were racks of clothes, appliances, furniture, pet supply, shoes, videos games...I could go on and on. Some were close-outs and some were damaged packaging. There were grocery items too. I left with 4 cans of tuna, 2 boxes of mac and cheese, new sneakers for the DH, a cast iron dutch oven, a stainless steel kitchen trash can with flip open top and three boxes of kleenex. The tuna had tiny dents and the boxes of mac and cheese were slightly crushed but not opened. I think the only reason the sneakers were there is there was no box (perhaps a display?). The cast iron dutch oven was unopened so I assume a closeout. The people were all friendly and chatted for a while with me. The sales clerk said that people who don't want to pay for a Costco membership usually stop in there to buy up the Costco products. While it wasn't in a fancy building, it was well lit and clean. I know I will return there again. If you are thinking of checking out one of those salvage stores, I recommend you do. Give it a try and you might find a new place for deals!

My store gets in a few non-food items but mostly its all food stuffs and I love it. Always start shopping there and move on the national chain for anything I can't find or can't wait on.

Interesting ... How were the prices compared to original store prices?

Glad you found a good store. I also checked out the closest one to me. It was pretty scary. Smelled bad and was dirty. I did get a great deal on Charmin toilet paper though!
