Greetings from New England!
Hello from The great New England Shores!
How did you hear about frugal village? Searched for Dave Ramsey forum on google, and have been enjoying and using all the information I've found here.
What interests you here? Frugal living, using resources responsibly, all the energy and enthusiasm for paying off debt and accumulating "true wealth" (lots of SAHMs here, I'm jealous!)
What will you contribute? Hopefully my own tips and tricks, I am a buyer for a company and budgets and things are a little different, but I am frugal just the same
Do you know any other members here? Not yet!
How many kids? Ages? No children, and it's a sensitive subject for me. I really wish I did, but I don't - yet.
Tell us about yourself. DH and I were married in 2007, and in 2008 (actually the day the market REALLY crashed) we closed on our first home. We purchased a 14 acre farm from my great-aunt, and the property has been in my family for 7 generations. We love it, but the mortgage haunts us every day. I feel a very strong responsibility for stewardship, and for making sure it is not lost on my watch!
Do you own any pets? 3 beloved cats, whom we call "the beans," including one cat my husband rescued out of New Orleans back in 2005.
Occupation? Technical Purchasing Manager for a large Financial Services Company (not one you are seeing on the news though!)
Married or single? Married
Interests and hobbies? Gardening, history, reading, practical skills, cooking, family, politics.
Challenges: Our mortgage ($312,000) and My husband's business debt ($145,000), managing my husband's business in a slow economy, keeping him on track!Last edited by ml2620; 03-18-2009 at 02:32 PM. Reason: Added Challenges in the interest of full disclosure.

Aloha and welcome from Hawaii!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

“Decluttering isn't just simplifying your life. It's having a vision, setting new priorities and using those notions to get rid of obstacles.”
